Anyway this is a new illustration of kirishima, Katsuki, and jeanist working at a hotel😭 Katsuki and jeanist are receptionists I think. Just imagine how Katsuki would talk to guests and jeanist would try to teach him how he SHOULD talk to them😭 look at the placement of their hands. Katsuki in his pocket and jeanist on his chest in a respectful way sjsjsjsjakka

Best Jeanist Villain AU Ideas !!!
I have so many ideas + some of my designs under the cut
Per my first post, Best Jeanist becomes a villain after actually faking his death.
Fiber control extends to all fibers, yes, all of them, and he switches to the human body as a sort of bloodbender in order to not immediately be discovered.
This works because his very first target is Hawks, so no one who knows the truth is left alive :3
Saves Twice as a villain debut, since that’s where Hawks is at the time.
“Strategic” transgenderism (just become a really hot woman and they’ll never know this is Best Jeanist) (that’s the only reason for sure)
Initially tries to be a solo villain, gets picked up by The League because Dabi hates his guts but Toga loves him (she’s like Mr. Stain-y but with girl power!)
Everyone is so unbelievably fucked in the upcoming war
Has a really cool puppet-master aesthetic, the papers call her The Marionette (I’ve designed multiple costumes, the most recent one has a control bar with detached strings… marionette off the strings, what villainy will she commit?)
He kind of really wants to kill Endeavor too
Dabi hates his guts
If you think this is Best Jeanist people think you’re fucking insane
What if someone would just let Hakamada stop being nice and fuck a few people up already
Dabi really hates his guts this cannot be stressed enough
Edgeshot has no idea what’s going on but as soon as he finds out it’s a 2-for-1 deal on villains
you guys see how the heroes are Not winning right
Dabi just wants to kill her but he can’t and this stupid villain keeps treating him like a troubled youth and not a real respectable villain

Best Jeanist villain AU where after being forced to fake his death by Hawks, he just actually fakes his death and becomes a villain. He switches from the innocuous control of fabric and cables to the fibers of the human body in order to not be immediately figured out as the same person. Everyone is very confused and kind of fucking scared that there’s just a new bloodbender of a villain who fights like a professionally trained hero with years of experience. Send post

I can’t stop thinking about Jeanist’s disappearance/pseudo-death and how devastating it would’ve been if we as an audience were closer to him. Like imagine if it was Aizawa or All Might who disappeared (logistically wouldn’t work but emotionally would’ve been terrific).
Regardless, I love writing other characters’s perspectives on his disappearance. How I love making characters attached to Jeanist for no reason. If Horikoshi won’t do it then I will god dammit..

Blood Bag AU: Hairdos for Himiko
Tumblr media Tumblr media
< Previous Post
Tsunagu never misses an opportunity to do Himiko’s hair when his schedule allows it. While Himiko was in junior high he could only do it on occasion because he was always out of the house much earlier than her.
But when Himiko started school at UA their morning schedules became more aligned (thanks to her long commute) so Tsunagu was finally able to do her hair every day. Regardless of how it’s styled, buns (or sometimes a single bun) are incorporated somehow as per her request.
Himiko’s hair buns are more put together than they are in canon (where she constantly has loose hairs). This is both because Tsunagu is very particular about doing her hair and he has a habit of using his quirk to tuck the loose hairs back in place whenever he sees them.

Watching My Hero Academia for the first time: A brief interlude for QUESTIONS
So, we're a few episodes into season 6, I've got a firm grasp on what I like and what I don't like about the show, I've made my predictions about what's going to happen, but I also have a list of questions that I have about the show that I would like answered before the show ends. I have decided to embrace my inner Nejire Hadou/Izuku Midoriya and just ask every single one. Even the silly ones. I present them to you in the form of a numbered list.
Is Izuku's dad just a fucken deadbeat? Like did he just go out to get milk and never come back
Followup to that, was Izuku an immaculate conception? Did Darth Plagueis make him? Did the Force make him after Darth Plagueis tried and failed?
Followup to the followup, his mom said that his dad breathes fire. As this show has established to me, everyone with vaguely similar powers is related– this leaves me no choice but to conclude that Papadoriya is in fact a Todoroki. This Too Is Todoroki.
Has anyone introduced Shigaraki to chapstick I think this would change his life and make him rethink villainy
Who is Dabi/Probably-Touya's piercer? Can they show up?
The Fallout-character cowboy UA teacher whose quirk is Gun to the best of my knowledge. What's his deal? Will we ever see his face?
Does Best Jeanist have a mouth
Does Best Jeanist have a chin
How do some of these kids figure out wtf their quirks are. Like if your quirk is that you could regrow your eyeballs if they fell out, would you just never know? Do you count yourself as quirkless even if you don't have the damn pinky toe joint?
Does Katsuki have to dispose of his sweaty clothing like it's chemical waste? Does he have to put ethanol in it?
Is Nejire's hero name just Nejire-chan? Also they say she's not sure why her shock waves are spiraling, is her quirk actually making vortices and the shock waves come from those? Am I reading too far into this?
Does All for One like French Literature specifically the book the Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas and if not why the fuck is he named All for One?
Is Aoyama the traitor because he is French and the names All for One and One for All came from a work of French literature?
What the fuck happened with the traitor thing btw? Did they just forgor?
Does Mr. Compress do birthdays? Funerals? Preschool graduations?
We have not seen a single other quirkless character in this show which leads me to believe that the world quirkless statistic of ~20% is much lower in Japan. Why? Or is this just a younger people are much less likely to be born quirkless now? Is it apparent on pre-natal genetic screenings? Or is the only way to tell through the toe bone thingie which would explain why you wouldn't see it in babies, making the rarity of quirkless people within the show more confusing to me. I would love demographics data show do you want to give me demographics data?
How hard is it to fake having a quirk? Like if I was smart (pipe dream ik) could I pretend my quirk was just being analytical? Could you get really really good at a skill and pretend that was a quirk all along?
Ik they say professional sports have fallen by the wayside but surely there's some coked up quirk sports that have developed as a result of quirks. WHAT ARE THEY? CAN I PLEASE SEE QUIRKED UP WATER POLO????
Does Best Jeanist have a mouth????
Has All for One ever forgotten he had a quirk only to have it crop up at a Moment Most Inconvenient
What do casinos do to stop people with specific quirks from cheating? Are they allowed to refuse service to people with beneficial quirks to gambling (like imagine if Sir Nighteye looked at the results of a slot machine or something) and how far does that go? Are quirks on your legal ID?
Genuinely what the fuck do wars look like with quirks?
This isn't a question I just think we should get to see Shouto's conspiracy theory corkboard at some point in the show
This universe is tragically artless and I want to know so badly what post-quirk society views as the tasteful art/music of the era. Have they invented music cultures for people with specific quirks? Are there niche artists who paint things you can only perceive if you have a given quirk? TELL ME MORE
If Monoma were to copy All for One would he be able to keep the quirks he took while having it? Would he turn into a Noumu after copying it? Would he be able to choose which quirk he copied from someone with multiple quirks????
IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN BC THIS IS SHONEN AND THEY'RE HATERS BUT OH MY GOD GENDER AND SEXUALITY STUDIES MUST BE HAVING A FUCKING FIELD DAY. ACADEMIA MUST BE SO FUCKING FUN
Is Miruko single
Is Miruko not single but willing to have an open relationship?
Is Hawks actually a hawk in terms of birdness? His wings don't look particularly hawk-ly though I presume they were built with like. Angel wings in mind.
WHAT KIND OF RODENT IS NEDZU? He lowkey gives possum.
Is the sports festival not like a huge issue for any hero that wants to go into more covert operations? Do students who want to do that have the opportunity to opt out?
Speaking of, how did Sir Nighteye end up as All Might's sidekick/lover? Surely he wouldn't have gone to UA as a hero because his quirk is too non-combat oriented and esoteric so like how does he end up there?
DOES BEST JEANIST HAVE A FUCKING MOUTH BRO????
Ok that's my questions off my chest! See you later for the episode watching!

What the English Dub Misses About “Your Name Is A Wish” [BNHA]
There are a lot of analyses based on like, subtle nuances lost in translation that can be made about basically any media translated from one language to another. When it comes to the “your name is a wish” monologue, while I do think there are subtleties to go into, what I want to talk about is what is so unsubtle it almost feels like an actual mistranslation how major of a change it is.
The first of two words Jeanist uses in the original Japanese is “ヒーロー名” (to ask with surprise that Bakugou has not already chosen a “hero name”) which is a borderline neologism occasionally used in the series. Literally just a combination of “hero” and “name” into one word. Oftentimes, the more standard “code name” (コードネーム) gets used in the series, but I think an important difference is the way these words are constructed. ヒーロー名 seems almost like part of the worldbuilding, as it is constructed like a more formal word, as opposed to コードネーム just being the transliteration “koodoneemu.” ヒーロー名 treats itself like a real category of name, and I think that matters a lot when we look at the second word Jeanist uses in this scene.
Simply “名.” The very plain, simple sentence, 「名は願い。」 He does not repeat ヒーロー名, nor does he refer to any other specific type of name, simply the concept of names as a whole. It’s actually rather uncommon to use the word 名 in speech, since it is more abstract or nebulous.
The English version of this scene uses hero name for both the original question, “you haven’t chosen a hero name yet?” and the statement, “your hero name is a wish.”
Now, contextually, that scene was on the topic of a hero name, but even with that in mind, I think it immensely changes the point of the monologue to change that wording.
I could make several, much longer posts on the importance of names and personal identity in BNHA for basically every character involved, but for the purposes of this one, I think it suffices to say “names and identity are a big fucking point of the series.” Especially, in my opinion, when it comes to Bakuretsuhiiroo Daibaku Sasshin Dainamaito Kacchan Bakugou.
What Bakugou identifies himself as is incredibly important to his character and arc. His very first hero names are rejected for being vulgar and absurd, and even after his talk with Jeanist, he’s still dead set on having an over-the-top name like that, but he’s clarified a little bit of his priorities: he wants to homage the pro hero who inspired him most. Then, for the climax of the story, he wants to homage his childhood best friend, and make a point that that inspiration is most important to him as a hero. Viewed from the angle of “your name is a wish,” Kacchan Bakugou is the wish for the person he used to be, just the little kid buying trading cards with Midoriya.
The English dub essentially ends that story with when he tells his hero name to Jeanist. He chose his hero name, his wish was dumb and stupid, he learned nothing, none of this mattered.
The original Japanese, considering all names equally a wish? This makes every single thing he calls himself after this point something to analyze under that framework. To consider with what Jeanist told him in mind, as he likely is keeping it too.
For Jeanist’s character, the speech is very revealing on some aspects of his nature. If keeping only hero names in mind, like the English dub asks the viewer to do, the wish in question is very unclear. What did he want in calling himself “Best Jeanist?” Literally just to invoke the award? Something more general, the wish for acclaim and recognition, broadly? It sounds pretentious at best, and just kind of stupid beyond that. And maybe he is pretentious and stupid (with love <3), but there’s more to it than that.
Names, all names, are a wish. How you want to be, or how you should be. And I think broadening the scope from “hero name” to “names in general,” means the viewer is encouraged to ask what the switch was for. It is my opinion that when he says this, he is not referring to Best Jeanist as the wish he made, but rather his given name, Tsunagu. Tsunagu is a very feminine name, from what I have seen, only used for girls. Combined with many other aspects of his character’s presentation and behaviors (which I have gone into at length in previous posts), what I get from this scene is that Jeanist is all but stating himself to be transgender. Your name is a wish, and he is a man with a woman’s name.
With that in mind, there’s a very special queer reading that can be taken from the scene. Bakugou being told that his name and identity are important isn’t just to say he needs to present himself a certain way as a hero, but to tell him to really think about who he wants to be, and what that means to him. It is a promise of acceptance, and it is one that Jeanist upholds even when Bakugou selects the most ridiculous name ever, because Jeanist respects Bakugou’s right to choose his identity. It’s nice, and it’s a major improvement in the queer themes from earlier on in the series, including when Jeanist was first introduced.
To me, it also seems clear why this kind of scene and relationship would be included. BNHA is a story with an immense focus on the importance of names and identity, so it is actually quite natural for there to be queer characters and themes within it. Bakugou is kept very neutral, as he is after all the deuteragonist of a shounen, but it’s neutral. He isn’t explicitly queer, but he isn’t explicitly not queer. He’s just a teenage boy who has anywhere he might be going with his life, but the option is presented to him as accepted and legitimate by having a positive mentor relationship with a very obviously queer adult. It just works for me, and I feel like everything I like about this scene is just lost by the addition of that one (1) unnecessary “hero name” usage.
