That's all I could ever hope for, to have a POSITIVE effect on women. 'Cos women are POWERFUL, powerful beings. But they're also the most doubtful beings. They'll never know - we'll never know - how POWERFUL we are.

“Sure, tell that to your old lady body then,” Thea smirked. “Oh yeah, I blew it up with my night vision,” she joked, conveniently leaving out the part about having electromagnetism manipulation which probably could’ve somehow blew the place up. “I’d like to think that if I’d been here, this wouldn’t have happened. All of the other guards should be fired, obviously.”
“ Excuse you, at least I have an ass on me, unlike you, Miss. Cullen.” they retorted with an amused smirk. “ Hey, if there’s anyone I wouldn’t put it pass, it’d be you, so, knowing you it’s highly likely.” They raised a brow at the other, giving a questioning glare. “ I hope not, can’t say the same about me, I was refilling my coffee..the damn explosion destroyed my favorite mug too and as much as I’ve looked, there’s no E-Bay replacement..”

ariadne-beauchamp:
@mvcgyver
Ariadne dropped her bag and looked around the living space, taking it all in. The room was filled with cots and a few people were sitting around talking and seemingly making the best of their situation. Some of them had very obvious mutations that made Ari glad that she had been able to hide hers for most of her life. She couldn’t imagine walking around with the mutant equivalent of a giant neon sign pointing to the fact that she was different. Yet many people here had to deal with it. It would take a bit of getting used to that was for sure.
It was strange that this was her life now. She didn’t know what compelled her to seek shelter with the Underground but it somehow felt like the best option. Her parents had given her a head start but she couldn’t tell for sure if they were going to chase her so she decided it was better to be safe than sorry. Ari was never political enough to have an opinion on the war against mutants (shocking considering who her father was), but now she had little say in the matter. She was a mutant and so she had to comply with the only group that seemingly wanted her alive.
She sighed before looking around. No one had given her a tour when she arrived so surely they wouldn’t mind if she gave herself one, right? After half an hour of walking around, and a few stink-eyes when she wandered into a room that she was not supposed to be in, she found herself in a room filled with computer screens. She read through them and frowned when she realized what they were tracking. The police. News. Anything that had to do with mutants. It was a stark reminder that the government wasn’t on their side and it was an incredibly strange feeling considering the privilege she had growing up.
She was about to leave when she accidentally bumped into someone as she turned around. An apology was on the tip of her tongue when she realized who she had bumped into. She froze. “Ness?” The name came out as barely a whisper, one that she hadn’t uttered in five years. Standing before her was one of the only people that had managed to take hold of her heart and crush it within the span of moments. Ari wasn’t a romantic. She wasn’t a believer in love, but somehow Nessa had managed to wiggle her way into the part of Ariadne that she didn’t know she even had.
As quickly as her shock came, it disappeared and was immediately replaced by anger. She clenched her fists but no words came. This was the person who upped and left her without a single word after all. What could she possibly say to them?
Nessa had always been a wanderer, someone that traveled from place to place, rarely ever settling in a single place for long. It was one of the few ways to keep the mutant life exciting, but after obtaining a severe injury causing travel to become more difficult, Nessa had no option but to settle down somewhere. So, helping with founding the Underground was a pleasant surprise. Despite being stuck in a single place, they were still given a constant excitement that they’d get nowhere else. That, and the company wasn’t so bad, not that Nessa would often admit it aloud.
After weeks, they’d managed to restore a makeshift version of the tech room to use while the original was still being restored post explosion. Nessa had started working on the few things they managed to recover from the wreckage, repairing what little they could.
Lost in their work, as usual, Nessa had hardly overheard the footsteps, making little of them. People were constantly leaving and coming from tech, that after a while it was one of those things they were used to here. There was always a noise being made in the distance, whether it was others typing away, coffee brewing in the corner or an old school computer struggling to keep up. It was almost soothing at this point.
Finishing up with a portion of their current project, Nessa reached for their tumbler and turned away, hoping a caffeine boost would get them to finish what needed to be done before the carnival. But then, their body collided hard into another, tumbler soaring through the air landing on the floor feet away. “ SHIT,” they cursed out, muttering a long series of curses under their breath, desperately hoping nothing was damaged or more damaged than before.
But then, came the familiar voice that they’d never forget, feeling as though the weight of a semi was crushing them into dust as they looked up, now face to face with her, Aria.
“ How long have you been here?” the words slipped without thought, a whirlwind of curiosities running around through their mind, yet little could be asked after Nessa left the other without a single word, not even a note.

Hades, Eros, Apollo
GREEK GOD MEME | always accepting.
hades: do you believe in life after death?
oh shit, i hope not. i really don’t think i’d do well in hell, because if it exists, that’s where i’m going for sure.
eros: describe your crush
i have lots of crushes, we might be here a while if i describe them all? let’s just say they’re all absolute goddesses, and should be cherished.
apollo: favorite piece of music.
there’s a few, but of current songs it’s either make me feel by janelle monae or honey by kehlani. if we’re talking of all time, where is the love by the black eyed peas.

“Kick me in the v? What are we, five?” Thea chuckled. “I was on assignment. Though, if I knew the place would fall apart without me, I wouldn’t have left.”
" Someone has to keep that kid-like spirit alive around here, I'm okay with it being me." Nessa nudged the other with a wink, half having forgotten about their cast, half not caring. “ Sounds highly suspicious, if I didn’t know you better, I might think you caused this mess.” But if there was one group of people Nessa trusted around the place, it was the rest of the founders to an extent. “ Unfortunately none of us were prepared, or I sure as hell would’ve made sure to KILL the culprit.”

spiroisalive:
Daemon wouldn’t admit it, but he had been spending a lot of time with Bridget that he was starting to think Nessa probably thought he was ignoring them. It had been five years since they last saw each other and now, being back around her, they hadn’t talked but maybe a few times. That didn’t stop the fact they were best friends though, he still cared about the stubborn fool more than anyone around there. Bridget was getting close though.
After finding out they weren’t in the tech room, he made his way around the compund until he found them. Putting a big smile on his face, he made his way over to his friend. Being careful started now. He wasn’t going to avoid her just because he suddenly had a crush on someone, but he had to keep that on the down low or who knows what would happen. Probably the same thing that happened when he found out they had been ‘crushing’ on people on their travels. “Hey stranger,” he said as he stepped in front of her.
@mvcgyver
Despite injury and better judgement, Nessa was still somehow managing to spend a majority of their time glued to a computer of some sort. They didn’t care if it resulted in their healing process taking longer, Nessa wanted NEEDED answers, and wouldn’t stop until they had them. Typing away, taking the occasional break to let their hand rest, Nessa was lost in her usual trance, getting close to hacking back into the Sentinel’s system when they heard familiar footsteps. Even after so many years, they’d recognize them anywhere.
“ Beginning to think if you’re really believing that stranger bit these days, hmm, and I thought I was the one known for hiding out for days,” Nessa couldn’t help but tease, a chuckle escaping as they glanced up. “ What’s got you in such a chipper mood? Finally get laid around here? Didn’t take you too long, still longer than me, but not surprised.”

“did i drink too much?” Trinity said as she passed back the silver flask to the girl. Trinity was open to trying new things, especially after the time she had been hidden away. So when she came upon Nessa drinking, she decided to join in. She wasn’t sure if she would regret it, feeling the burn down her throat.
" Depends on how you feel, for me personally, you’ve had too little a drink,” Nessa teased, taking a decent gulp from the flask, followed by a second. “ But for a first timer, not bad.” With a smirk, they held the flask back out to Trinity. “ Do you feel like getting up on your feet and dancing yet?”

Thea looked around at the pile of destruction in front of her. “What the fuck happened?! I was only gone for like a week!”
“ I’d punch you right now for ditching us, but I have a feeling that’d do me more harm than you right now. Maybe a kick in the V?” Nessa teased, though a serious expression lingered. “ The better question is, where were you?”

“Ah, damn.” The brunette said quietly. “Sorry about that Nessa.” She laughed softly before crossing her arms. Nessa had probably been one of the last people she wanted to actually run into. She knew Nessa had been hurt in the explosion and no matter how much they’d would try and say they were fine, Farrah knew Nessa. “Well, I’m glad I’m no one else then. I’d hate to have that from you.” She said, placing a hand over her chest.
" You're fine, for now, unless we've run out of coffee, then no one's safe." reaching out, Nessa wiped the mess from their screen, ignoring the pain from her hand. " Don't think anyone does, from anyone, not just me. I can't really be that bad, can I?" They teased, pulling their hand back as they glanced up from the laptop. " Have you found anything yet on the explosion? I’d look myself, but turns out I’m banned from going into tech.”

“I’d appreciate that.” Maria said quietly. She didn’t exactly want to talk about anything related to the underground right now or the explosion. She needed something to keep her distracted for a bit or she was going to lose it.
“You could always boss me around to do computer work for you. Though I don’t know how helpful I’ll be with one arm.” She said, waving her left arm in the air since it was her unbroken arm. “Think the kitchen has some food we can sneak out?”
" We can always talk plans for the carnival, tell me there's a supply of this free booze nearby? Or is it hands off until Sunday? ” Nessa asked, deciding a subject change was best. “ Because I think given the circumstances, we both could use some or a lot, in this case.”
“ Don’t tempt me, because I might. I’ll figure something out, there’s always installing a voice recognition software.” The only problem with that was that it’s easier to spy on things said aloud, and record and the last thing Nessa needed was added stress. “ We’ll both heal eventually, hell, maybe with enough alcohol the pain will be numbed entirely.”

marriage law! quick, you have to pick someone on the compound to marry, who is it?
ew, marriage. such a gross concept, if you ask me. i’ve never liked the idea of being tied down to someone but if we have to pick someone...ah, fuck, nope...still don’t think i can do it. i’d rather be without hands entirely.

How do you feel having both your hands damaged in the explosion?
in pain, obviously. how would you feel about both your hands being damaged? though that’s a slight over exaggeration, it still hurts like a damn bitch.

minesweepr:
“Nessa.” He stepped in front of her, stone-faced but apologetic. “You know I respect the hell out of you, and whatever you have on those hard-drives, but you’re not going back in there. Not until it’s cleared by far more able-bodied mutants than the two of us. If Leadership is having me on perimeter watch, and not, say, running sweeps or going on much needed supply runs, it’s a lot worse than we thought.” He took a slow breath, arms folded and unmoving.
“Last I heard your hands were shattered in the explosion. Now unless you’ve developed incredibly advanced telekinesis in the last few days, I’m having a hard time understanding how you plan on moving the rubble that’s still covering tech room. Unless this is really a thinly-veiled suicide mission, in which case, you can fuck right off.”
" Fuck respect, if none of us are going to make it out alive. I will find a way, whether it’s now or later. I’m more than able-bodied, it’s going to take a lot more than an explosion to change that. It’ll become a lot worse if the rat inside this place gets their hands on those hard drives, if they h haven’t already.” Nessa’s attention glued on Ethan, they couldn’t help the dozens of possibilities swirling around the back of their mind. They needed a way in, and if it meant having to do unquestionable things at this point, Nessa would.
“ Hands are hands, I still have my feet, my legs, the rest of my body. Mind over matter, I can deal with a little pain. There’s plenty with far worse off injuries than me, I can manage.” They insisted. “ You don’t understand what’s at stake with some of these files...I have to try.”

shesawhirlwind:
Being bedridden was brutal. Bridget used to wish she could have a day all to herself, curled up in her bed and relaxing without a care in mind. Now, all she wanted was out of that damned thing and to be able to do anything besides just rest. She knew it was necessary, especially since she wasn’t sure still if her head was quite alright, but she was bored to tears. Daemon had kept her company a lot, but when he wasn’t there she let the time go by, sleeping mostly. Apparently though, there was such a thing as too much sleep. Twisting onto her side, the blonde’s eyes fluttered open as she took in her surroundings. At least it wasn’t the ceiling again. It was interesting watching the patients; some seemed too shaken to get up, and others like herself, were becoming restless. Next to her was one of the latter.
“I know what you mean. I feel like I’m losing my mind over here,” Bridget sighed heavily as she took in the unfamiliar features of the other patient, eyes flickering to their hand. “I would love to,” she responded, genuinely intrigued, but the second the response left her mouth, Bridget retracted. “But, I shouldn’t. I promised my friend that I would keep resting until I’m told otherwise. Plus I still can’t hold my head up all that long,” she added begrudgingly. “I’m Bridget, by the way,” she gave a warm smile. “I’m sorry about your hand.”
Unable to stop stirring, Nessa was hardly able to stay still. Shifting nonstop against the pillows and comforter, they were sure someone was going to rip them away at any moment. It wasn’t as if their injury was even that bad, why they needed a bed was beyond them, unless it was to restrain them from doing anything impulsive.
“ It seems ridiculous, to keep able-bodied people in bed, when there are plenty of others that need more care, and should be kept a better eye on.” Nessa insisted with a nod in agreement. “ Is your friend here now?” They couldn’t help but question, smirking as their gaze shifted back and forth around the compound, looking for anyone else. “ What if we find you a wheelchair? There’s bound to be one around here.” For someone with superhuman intelligence, Nessa could be downright idiotic. “ Bridget, cute name, suits you. I’m Vanessa, though call me Nessa unless you want to extend your time in here.” Nessa warned with a playful wink. “ Me too, I mean it doesn’t sound like a horrid injury but when you can hardly open a pack of Oreo’s, you realize just how useful your damn hands are.”

hervcles:
A small chuckle asked his lips when they first spoke. “Why am I not surprised to hear you say that, Nessa? Not that we have a lot of proofs to find the culprit, though I’m guessing we could find some if we searched a little more.” It just seemed like it wasn’t the right idea now, when everything still looked like a complete mess. “Now that, is more reasonable.” He agreed with a small. “Feels like I’ve been cleaning rubble for a very long time, suppose it has to be done though.”
" Because as always I’m ruthless, can’t believe this is still news to some.” A slight smirk curved onto their lips, eyes lighting up in mischief before faltering. “ Maybe I would, if half of tech wasn’t trashed, but the truth always comes out, so it’s only a matter of time before the culprit gets their JUST DESSERTS,” if there was one thing Nessa did believe in, it was Karma. “ Better to find them before the chaos only worsens, don’t you think? I’m surprised fights have yet to break out, in fact, I’m not sure I’d be all that keen on stopping them...” Of course, that all depended on those involved, Nessa didn’t feel the need to add that. Chaos was the only thing keeping them from losing their mind entirely. “ Just don’t let any of the docs around here know I was down here helping you, but you’re right, seems to be never ending. I’m only hoping I find what I need before anyone else does.”
