“National teacher shortage” is a fun way of saying that the USA has made a passion driven job so ungodly inhospitable that even people who “just care about teaching, not the money” don’t even care about teaching anymore.

Yeah the entire idea that people have to stop being themselves when they get married or move in together is just so wild to me. On either side. Why on earth would you want to live with someone if you don't like who they are? Maybe it's the autism but it's so baffling to me. Why would I ever demand that someone I love give up the things precious to them? Why should that be a condition to live together? The whole idea is disgusting.
I've lived in five countries and move every couple years on average so I don't have any collections of stuff, unless you count the excess of files on my external hard drives. I just don't have the money or energy to lug things from country to country and apartment to apartment if they're not essential. But just because I don't have stuff and like keeping things pretty sterile looking due to a hyperfixation on cleanliness from child abuse and being punished for any "mess" even if it wasn't my own, doesn't mean I think anyone else needs to get rid of their stuff. It's theirs. Roommate, live in lover, friend, whatever - I have no right to want to take what they like from them and the idea of even wanting to skeeves me out.
I’ve seen this new trend of girls posting videos like “I hate my boyfriend for bringing all of his stupid boy things into our apartment when we moved in together 🙄” and then pictures of his hot wheels collection or a Halloween skeleton or an extremely cool pirate flag. Give him to me you do not deserve him.

Stardust in the Perseus Molecular Cloud Image Credit & Copyright: Jeff Schilling
Explanation: Clouds of stardust drift through this deep skyscape, across the Perseus molecular cloud some 850 light-years away. Dusty nebulae reflecting light from embedded young stars stand out in the nearly 4 degree wide field of view. With a characteristic bluish color reflection nebula NGC 1333 is prominent near center. Hints of contrasting red emission from Herbig-Haro objects, the jets and shocked glowing gas emanating from recently formed stars, are scattered across the dusty expanse. While many stars are forming in the molecular cloud, most are obscured at visible wavelengths by the pervasive dust. The chaotic environment surrounding NGC 1333 may be similar to one in which our own Sun formed over 4.5 billion years ago. At the estimated distance of the Perseus molecular cloud, this cosmic scene would span about 80 light-years.

The threat was loud and clear: Report your so-called “DEI” employees or else. What exactly “DEIA or similar ideologies” means is up in the air, but the message was out there. And so was the email address of the DEIA snitching hotline. Fake emails quickly started to roll in. ‘I don’t care, fuck these McCarthyite bastards,” one BlueSky user said, with an screenshot attached of an email to the hotline where he ironically reported Donald Trump and JD Vance for being “put in their positions solely because of their race and/or gender despite the fact that they are wholly unqualified for their jobs and, in some cases, have criminal records.” “Anyone have a script to fire off a billion e-mails an hour??” another user asked in the replies. “Anyone can email anything of any size even if it crashes the site,” one X user noted. The scope and effectiveness of this latest phase of Trump’s anti-DEI crusade remains to be seen.

In the past 24 hours, over two dozen people from across the federal government leaked to me various internal directives and memos killing their agencies’ DEI programs. One angry official even sent me Elon Musk’s new official White House email address (I verified the address, belonging to the Executive Office of the President, by sending an email which didn’t bounce back.)
In fact, I've gotten more leaked documents in the past day than I’ve gotten on any other day ever
Here are all the leaked memos too. Extremely fucking dystopian. They all share an email government employees are supposed to use to report "DEIA related" people and programs trying to "obscure their connection" to it - “[email protected]

Yeah if I could go back and not get diagnosed I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I'm from the US but live in Denmark. Diagnosed summer 2022. ASD and ADHD.
At first it was really great to have an explanation for why I never fit in and always had so much trouble finding and keeping work and issues with all socializing ever, but in the end there was no practical solution to those issues since I'm not Danish and therefore can't access financial assistance or job help or anything of the sort.
So I'm struggling to find a job to support myself in an incredibly ableist society where newspapers frequently publish articles about how autism isn't real and isn't actually a condition, just a catchphrase everyone wants to use and so on.
If I go back to the US I won't be able to afford insulin so that's not really something I can do.
GDPR is a thing in Europe so I don't have to worry about anyone getting the information, but I'm visibly disabled in other ways and act weird by societal standards, so the diagnoses are just another roadblock. Wish I'd never been evaluated honestly.
By the way. Before you rush to get a professional diagnosis for a Brain Thing you should really weigh your options. Like do you just want to "prove it" or will this actually give you access to treatment you can't have otherwise? Are the treatment options available worth having the government know you're neurodivergent? Because sometimes it's better to keep things off the record because unfortunately we still live in a very deeply ableist society and you might not want to have more real material oppression stacked against you than you have to

maybe its because im an asylum seeker but i am of the opinion that even if immigrants and asylum seekers contributed nothing to a nation that nation should not have the right to deport them.
