Here is a website with a timeline of fetal development, including real photographs. All ages referenced to fertilization, not last menstrual period.

Get out a ruler and see how big that ⅛ and ½ inch are. They are visible to the naked eye. This article claims otherwise.

The Guardian article is phrased very manipulatively. Under each photograph they say that these are the gestational sacs and supporting tissues for pregnancy. Only one photo claims to show the embyro, at 9 weeks from the start of the woman's last period.

Some women have irregular menstrual/ovulation cycles. This patient could have ovulated "late" and have it counted as a nine week pregnancy according to these anti-abortion laws. While other women could ovulate "early" and the embryo would appear much more developed at nine weeks.

If you're following the average formula that this article gives (-2 weeks), then the age would be counted as 7 weeks post-fertilization. Here are some photos of embryos this age:

I think everyone should go into this with open eyes. Do not accept false information, even if the people giving it claim to be "on your side", even if it would make you feel better to believe. I support women's right to abortion. I don't support the falsification of biological fact.

I had a misoprostol abortion at 9 weeks post-conception. The fetus had a face and little hands, which matched up with the photos shown on the EHD website.

I don't regret it. But I think you all need to accept the reality of death. Don't delude yourself or try to hide it. Accept it face on. There are circumstances where you will have to choose to prioritize your life over another person's, for your own good, or else you will suffer. I don't think a fetus is equivalent to a born person, but it's still "alive". You can feel it when you're pregnant. I think the anti-abortionists who eat animal-meat are hypocrites in this manner. They choose all the time to prioritize their life over another's. So why should this be different?

You have to decide for yourself if it's better to die a simple, quick death; or to endure years of suffering, poverty, and abuse. That was the choice I made.

The misoprostol abortion was also extremely painful - the worst pain I've felt in my life thus far. I worry that women who are being shown these fluffy amorphous images of tissue are going to go into an abortion thinking it's a piece of cake, when at 9 weeks post-conception there really is a larger object that has to pass through the cervix.

Don't let other people's twisted sense of morality & martyrdom distract you from what's real.

This is literally why so many guys are trooning out to be "trans lesbians".

They sign up to get told they are "perfect just the way they are" & any woman who has an issue with him must have some subconscious transphobia; that lesbians must bend over backwards to include him in their female-only activities. He can intimidate and pressure lesbian women to "try him out" so they won't have rumors spread that they are transphobes or TERFs. He doesn't have to worry about rejection, it's now the women who are put under scrutiny for rejecting him. They even get another group of mentally unstable women - FtMs - which they can take advantage of, bully as much as they like, and it's all excused by their communities because "it's a (trans) woman picking on (trans) men, who cares; (trans)misandry isn't real", " 'he' must be a transmisogynist, so it's justified for 'her' to lash out at 'him' " (Remember DARVO). I think this is where some of the worst abuse takes place.

They're very careful about their marketing because they know most of their marks won't go for "men's rights" bullshit so they have to rebrand the woes of "misandry" as "transmisogyny" ...

...while convincing every female that she needs to mark herself as "TME (transmisogyny-exempt)" so she never speaks over one of these special men.

It's funny because I don't think this was the outcome of coining "transmisogyny" that Julia Serrano intended, he even said that FtMs should coin their own word to describe their specific struggles, but most of the other MtF activists on tumblr are completely against the idea of any female person having a word to describe their issues that a special trans woman couldn't ever possibly relate to. They say trans women experience all misogyny, and if they can't then it's not really misogyny (i.e. forcing women to have children, reproductive abuse)["This issue affects (trans) men so it's not really misogyny" "trans men don't experience misogyny but trans women do", "misogyny is about hating women, not about hating pregnant people!" So it doesn't matter, if Woman is just an idea in a man's head instead of full-fleshed people that exist regardless of his will] or they jerk off to it and they say they WANT to be able to experience this abuse. "Trans women ARE women, this is more than just a slogan [delusion]! Convince yourself of that, live by that, don't think of us any differently than normal girls, or you aren't our ally."

They're literally obsessed with having the highest "victim points", because they think it translates to being treated with more deference and privilege in Progressive groups. That's why they try to say misogyny doesn't exist unless trans women experience it. They don't give a single shit about the truth, or the origin of patriarchy, or anything. They just want to secure their own social position, and make female people feel guilty and afraid to live their lives or even think about themselves uncentered around males. Then they get female people to pat their asses and tell them that everything's okay, that they're not evil men, whenever they have a moment of self-doubt or guilt, which they quickly reframe as "internalised transphobia/transmisogyny". This is how they try to solve all the fears that these men are describing right here. Unfortunately, a lot of people are manipulated by this bullshit.

If you want your activism to help women, you have to come to terms with the fact that the majority of women have been abused. This means that you need to know how to talk to and act around abuse victims. There’s no world where walking up to someone and telling them to leave their abuser right tf now works. None. Never has never will.

But! Being a good example of a non-abusive relationship will give the abused women in your life a new base-line for how their relationships should go. Many women have literally never experienced living without abuse.

Abuse victims can seem like they’re acting irrationally, but truly, if you put your time and effort into understanding unconscious reactions to abuse, you can begin to see, and disrupt, the patterns of abuse.

Why is this abuse victim you’re helping seemingly doing everything in her power to piss you off? She’s trying to burst your bubble to see if you’ll abuse her too. Lay down boundaries that have to do with yourself and not her.

Why is this abuse victim breaking every single ground rule you lay down? She wants to know how much control you have over her, and she’s trying to regain her freedom and will power in little steps. It’s a big step to break rules when you’ve been abused and leaving lights on or not washing after your dishes is a lot easier than breaking one of their abuser’s rules (which usually come with harsh punishments)

The main point is that you can’t advocate for any group of women without understanding abuse and how it shapes the brain and behavioral patterns.

This is why women with borderline personality disorders are often ‘flagged’ to health and emergency services without their knowledge. Many GP surgeries flag a female patient with borderline personality disorder as a high-risk person; as do ambulance services, fire services, police services and social services. What this means in reality is that women and girls with this diagnosis can be treated as if they are unstable, unreliable or exaggerating when they call emergency services for help.

It appears then, that instead of addressing the enormous and complex traumas of women and girls subjected to male violence, there is a strong culture of diagnosing them with mental disorders and encouraging them to take daily medication. One of the most damaging impacts of this practice is the subsequent internalisation of self-blame and self-doubt for women and girls who are told that their trauma responses and coping mechanisms are not valid or relevant, instead, they are mentally ill due to some form of ‘disorder’, or ‘imbalance’, or ‘faulty genes’.

Borderline personality disorder in women has earned its place as the modern-day ‘hysteria’. Women and teen girls are the majority of people diagnosed with it, the criteria are as loose as the professional needs or wants them to be, and it results in years of medication, discrimination and treatment.

Once diagnosed with a personality disorder, you can only ever be in ‘remission’ but never ‘cured’. When and if you struggle again, it is seen as evidence that you have ‘relapsed’. How does a woman or girl ever escape this diagnosis when the language and theory is so circular?»

Oh wow.

Have you heard about the "transandrophobia" discourse, or the baeddels?

Because I think they leaned heavily into this strategy.

When I used to be trans, I tried to play along with baeddel ideologues because they always were claiming their side is "the right side" and anyone who disagrees with them obviously just hates trans women, only wants trans women to shut up and be submissive, never tell their own side of the story. So if you tell these specific people that you disagree with them, they'll call you a misogynist. They conflate "transmisogyny" with misogyny, the perpetrators of both as the same. and so they use this fear as a way to control teenage girls, telling them that they're just as bad as misogynist men if they disagree with a trans woman.

Then they claim to feel "threatened" by afab trans people, they claim that "afabs hold power over them, even if they don't identify as trans men they are still analogous to men.... by virtue of... not being born male, and identifying as nonbinary or whatev."

(Not as if males and females are each raised to view the ideas of "men" and "women" differently, and so when a female says she wants to be recognised as a male in society, she typically means something different from a male saying he wants to be "recognised" as a male in society. [i.e. he wants a wife to serve him and make him "feel like a man", while the girl wants to be free to pursue her own interests without the fear or restriction unfairly put on females.] Although if this is pointed out to her, she may change her original reasoning to better blend in with males, so she isn't singled out as a "wussy little woman trying to play with the big boys".

Not as if patriarchy has any kind of biological component, nosiree not like it has anything to do with using female people as baby-slaves. But it's not like any of these males would take the time to try to empathise with the real perspective of a female person, when they're so deadset on trying to convince themselves they were female all along)

10 years ago, I hadn't read any radfem theory at all. But now I have spent a lot of time doing that. and I recognise now, the way that the baeddels talk about TIFs is exactly how radfems talk about TIMs. They repeat the same fears textbook, exactly. I think that they find a sort of psychological release in subjecting a female person to the treatment they receive on account of being male. Their desire is to turn the world upside down. They resent women for forming groups without them, so they turn on the female people in trans groups (especially because they're more likely to be mentally ill or suggestible; less likely to fight back against someone who they wholeheartedly want to see as a trans woman, a comrade, a revolutionary). A woman who isn't invested in trans politics can tell this dick to fuck off with no guilt, but a trans-identified girl feels a pressure. If she leans back on her original sex, then she's "not committed to being trans enough", thus no one will respect her gender identity, especially not trans women.

This is their loophole they've found for incel tactics. They love accusing TIFs of being MRAs and incels, and all the worst things associated with actual biological males, and the TIFs are put in a double-bind where their only options for retaliation are to "say something 'transphobic' (insinuate these beautiful stunning brave trans women were not always female)" or "go full 'MRA' larp and talk about how much they hate 'TIRFs' (the mtf version of terfs) and how hating men is bad".

(These males love the second one. It plays by their rules, and it only adds layers to the confusion and chaos, it makes to look like they have a real opposition, as if ftms really are in league with misogynistic men.)

Well, if you choose to acquiesce to the demands put on you instead of argue, then you get the privileged role of "TME" where you can harass other females with abandon, on behalf of your bepenised overlords. and if anyone tells you that you're wrong you can always rest easy in the knowledge that some guy with a dick told you this is the correct opinion for you to have.

I believe the transandrophobia discourse started as a way for TIFs to talk about how they specifically face harassment for being ftm (or gnc & female). It just astounds me how this whole debacle replacates male/female social power dynamics, even when people are publically identifying themselves as the opposite. The males don't want the female people to have a word to describe themselves, to differentiate themselves from the males, to talk about their own experiences. The males want their own suffering to stand acknowledged as the worst possible thing, that no possible female could ever dream of understanding this level of complexity. They steal so much shit from radfems because they are jealous, the same way they copy their female crushes, how they try to skinwalk their sisters. They want to be in the "girls only club" but it's no fun to be included as an exotic special visitor. The only part of a "girls only club" that they're truly familiar with is the fact that they're excluded from it, and the kindergarten misandrist insults that were leveled at them. So they create their own club of crossdressing men so they can bully crossdressing women. They want peurile revenge.

There is not a deep truth behind their ideology. They just pretend to have a good reason so that people are too distracted by the politics to tell them to fuck off.

I was on tumblr in 2013-2014 and I saw the first wave of baeddels in real time. These posts were documented on baeddel-txt. (Archive link to 2022, because that period of posting quickly shows that there were many different people involved in this community. Plus I think that over time the txt blog became more about the owner's personal politics rather than a cut&dry documentation of the baeddels.)

This is actually a well-known propaganda tactic - Accusing your enemy of what you yourself are doing.

Deflect attention from yourself by calling your enemy a liar and accusing her of the things she rightly accuses you of. This confuses people. And so if you’re the one who holds more social power - Which trans people currently do in liberal circles - Other people will believe that you’re the one in the right.
