On a side note, thank you all so much for 41 applications so far! This means a couple of things

-We have enough applications that we can now for sure share some of the spotlight with our extinct species! These pages will have a special little section at the end of the zine :-)

-With some demand on certain species, some people may not get the pages they want. The priority is getting everyone at least 1 page (so if you applied to do multiple in-demand pages, you may only get 1!), but the overlap means some people might not be able to. However, if you miss out, you will receive an email with a list of available pages!

Anybody who applied through the form but couldn't be squeezed in will have priority pick of available pages over late applicants or those looking to do extra pages during our page discussion period

Thank you all again for applying, this thing was started with a goal of 10 pages and so far, we're looking at over 40!

Applications open TODAY at 2pm PDT. Some clarifications before their opening!

•There will be one page for each species, no duplicates! I will be trying to give everyone their top pick and collaborating on pages is more than welcome!

•You can put extinct species on the list of what you'd like to do, but it is unlikely that you will be given one unless we have a huge amount of applications, so be aware of that!

•If you are late to apply, worry not! We'll be accepting late applicants through dms, just say you'd like to participate! HOWEVER keep in mind;

-You'll be getting last pick of pages

-You'll be expected to catch up with our schedule

The cutoff date for late applicants is listed on our schedule

Schedule

Here's what our schedule looks like!

Note this is subject to change depending on how smoothly things run. Comment on it is more than welcome for those wishing to apply!

Sept 7th - Sept 20th: Application forms are open!

Sept 25th: Emails are sent out with assigned pages and participants are invited to the Discord server

Sept 25th - Oct 1st: Cooldown time to discuss trading/collaborating on pages and to brainstorm ideas. During this time late applicants will also be added into the server

Oct 1st - Oct 20th: A rough concept is due

Nov 20th: First check-in, 15-25% completion expected

Dec 27th: Second check-in, 40-50% completion expected. After this point no more late applicants will be invited to the server

Jan 27th: 3rd check-in 75% completion expected 

Feb 27th: Final submissions!

March 4th - March 17th: Formating (may be extended depending on amount of participants and extensions)

March 20th: Final zine released!

Extra time will be given to participants with more than one page for each step, this will be worked out with each individual participant

Zine Guidelines

Here are the guidelines for those looking to apply for MusteliZine!

•Pages will be 1080 pixels by 1350 pixels. Artworks MUST be in this ratio

•This is a completely SFW zine!

•No anthros or OCs! We're keeping the spotlight on the actual animals

•We're welcoming artists of all skill level! The only two things required are;

-You can tell what animal you're drawing

-Don't leave a lot of negative page space

•Page format will be completely up to the artist! Sketch pages? Sweet! Painted scenes? Awesome! Diorama? Heck yes! Have fun with it!

•While it's preferable you have Discord for communication, if you do not have an account I can work with you through email!

•We WILL have deadlines for things to be submitted, but extensions will be available. This is a passion project after all, and we wouldn't want to badger you (as much as we love them)!

•All artwork must be original, no submitting previously made works

•Please only post your pieces after the finished zine is put together and released!

These guidelines will be reiterated throughout the whole zine making process, and I can aid with any troubles you may have!

It is with great pleasure that I bring to you MusteliZine, an upcoming zine centered around the family of Mustelidae!

This is an artwork focused project, welcoming of artists of any skill level! The final zine will be completely free and in PDF format
