The MFIS was honored to welcome this year’s speaker Mr. Herman Moore to the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort for the MFIS Fall Conference for the Fire Service. Herman Moore has a unique ability to deliver an honest and transparent look into this subject of Mental Health Awareness from a perspective that is refreshing, interactive and captivating. His presentation is Inspirational and provides solutions for steps to improve and return to a manageable level of Mental Health. Sometimes we endeavor to continue to function at high levels of demand despite the underlying evidence of warning signs that we may need to give attention to our own needs. We continue to give everything, even ourselves. This discussion and presentation opened up the strength that is gained and achieved by focusing on our Mental Health. It was timely for our Organization. The rate of suicide in Police and Fire is higher than other institutions and occupations. The level of pain that is observed in this group is unmatched. Thank you for helping to remove the stigma by emphasizing the acceptance and value of asking for help. We appreciated the motivation to take care of ourselves as we continue to provide for others. The questions and after presentation discussion that was generated from Mr. Moore's delivery was full of heart to heart advice. Thank you again Mr. Herman Moore .
