Frightened Rabbit - The Oil Slick (Live)
There is light but there’s a tunnel to crawl through There is love but it’s misery loves you We’ve still got hope so I think we’ll be fine In these disastrous times, disastrous times

Queens of the Stone Age
Desert rock. Hard rock, alt rock, stoner rock. However it’s described, it’s Queens of the Stone Age.
Josh Homme is the lead singer, guitarist, and occasionally plays drums, bass, and piano as well. He’s the only consistent member, but in the past Mark Lanegan and Dave Grohl have been involved. (He’s also in Them Crooked Vultures with Dave, and is a founding member of Eagles of Death Metal but doesn’t usually play with them live, only in studio.)
I’m only really familiar with three of their albums, …Like Clockwork, Lullabies to Paralyze, and Songs for the Deaf. So here’s a primer, by moi.
Their first big hit was “No One Knows” in 2002 off of Songs For The Deaf - here’s the video, complete with awkward ginger-Homme, Grohl on drums, and there’s a deer getting revenge against the band for hitting it with their car.
They also had another hit off it, “Go With The Flow”. The video is Red & Black: The Aesthetic, meets Mad Max and babes:

I only recently fell in love with 2005′s Lullabies to Paralyze.
My favorite songs are “Burn the Witch” and “Tangled Up in Plaid”, followed closely by “In My Head” and “Everybody Knows That You’re Insane”.
Burn the Witch - Spooky black and white (w/ special guests, red and fire):
Ask yourself Will I burn in Hell? Then write it down and cast it in the well…

…Like Clockwork is hands down my favorite of the three. The background info on the record is kinda nuts:
In 2011, frontman Josh Homme was hospitalized for thirteen days, and subsequently bedridden for four months, following complications during a routine surgical procedure on his knee. Homme noted, “I woke up and there was a doctor going, ‘Shit, we lost you.’ I couldn’t get up for four months. When I did, I hadn’t got a clue what was going on.” During this time, Homme sank into a deep depression, noting “I would never say, ‘I’m probably not gonna make it out of here.’ But back then, I would definitely think it.”
The remaining members of Queens of the Stone Age encouraged Homme to return to the band to begin work on a sixth studio album. Homme noted, “I had to ask them 'If you want to make a record with me right now, in the state I’m in, come into the fog. It’s the only chance you got.’ It brought us much closer, because you never really know someone till everything goes wrong.”
[…] in 2013, Homme noted, "I was hoping that playing the first record would really inspire me and make me fall in love with music again. But I think I was just lost, looking for something in the dark. In that dark I found …Like Clockwork. (x)
Okay, so basically if there’s one record I think you should listen to in it’s entirety, it’s Clockwork. There’s not a bad song. Every song is so fucking good.
There’s also bunch of cool as fuck videos.
I Appear Missing
Calling all comas, Prisoner on the loose. Description: A spitting image of me Except for the heart-shaped hole where the hope runs out…
Keep Your Eyes Peeled
Fallen leaves realize they are no friend of autumn The view from Hell is blue sky So ominously blue I daydream until all the blue is gone…
Actually, the music videos for this album make a mini movie:

The songs are: "I Appear Missing” / “Kalopsia” / “Keep Your Eyes Peeled” / “If I Had a Tail” / “My God is the Sun”.
The new album, Villians, comes out on August 25th 2017.

Here’s the single, “The Way You Used to Do”:

In closing, I also made a playlist with these songs and a few more:

If Rage Against the Machine continued to make new music, it’s easy to see how “Living On The 110” would fit perfectly into their cannon.

Sometimes I just want to close my eyes, tune everything else out, and listen to this song on repeat.
