The whump scenario I'm currently thinking of? Hiccup escaping from a terrible situation after being captured some time ago together with Toothless and just returning to his friends all injured and tired. And as his friends are trying to treat his injuries and noticing new scars and apologizing for not finding him sooner, Hiccup is just so... casual about it.

"No, it's okay, really, you guys don't have to apologize."

"No, it's fine, I'm fine."

"No, really, I'm just glad to be home."

And the casualness/mutedness of his tired and injured self just hurts the Riders even more.

Can I just add that part of wt makes it that funny is how they did it? Like yea… they speed ran it, but they didn’t have to do it quite the way that they did.

It was like they looked at the first movie and went “what absolutely needs to happen?” And then thew it all together with very little to tie each thing together.

Like yea… it tracks.

The story is decent and there.

But it makes for a really funny watch

i cant stop laughing while watching darkest night, cause like i know its supposed to be “everything that happened wouldve happened anyways” BUT ITS SO RIDICULOUS THAT THEY JUST SPEED RAN THE ENTIRETY OF HTTYD 😭😭

This was the first writing challenge I had ever actually attempted and it just so happened that it coincided with the start of a semester of school for me, which made it much more difficult to find time to work on these.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge and am really happy that in doing this challenge I was able to pick up this hobby of mine again. It's had a major impact on my everyday life, one my friends and professors have noticed. I'm not giving up this hobby again like I did a few years ago.

like i'm sorry but we as a fandom have to stay firm on our anti-AI values. we cannot suddenly start giving AI a pass when it's something we "want to see" like destiel kisses. it's not suddenly fine. we're not going to start using AI to make fanfic scenes come to life or audio AI to make characters "say" stuff we want to hear. you have GOT to be firm on your anti-AI stance. if you start making exceptions then suddenly anything will fly. fandom is for real art and creations made by real people. no AI fanfics. no AI art. no AI rendered "bonus" scenes. no AI audio. none of it has a place here.

I’m so happy I found this post! The same user has recently private messaged me on ff.net and something also seemed off as you said, but it also seemed genuine. I’ve exchanged a couple messages with them, thankfully no personal information was in any of them.

This person had agreed to talk on the messaging part of this site, but when I haven’t succeeded in getting a reply sent, I decided to see if I could find them and this post came up. So happy I decided to look!

Soo I finally got the first comment on the latest part of my fic series, so yay, right? Except, it was someone offering a paid art/animation collaboration, which is of course against AO3 rules. I thought it was an innocent mistake at first, because the person didn't seem like a scammer from the first paragraph, they had evidently read the work enough to leave a comment that demonstrated higher reading comprehension than you can expect online... I thought there was something strange about it though, couldn't put my finger on why exactly, their excitement just didn't feel completely genuine to me. Anyway, I assumed their offer to be an innocent mistake, because a lot of us tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, right? Then I decided to check what other comments they had left anyway, and learned that they are routinely leaving the same request on fics on AO3. So, I reported them. Then, I learned that someone had already reported them too, after this user had tried to scam them.

Anyway, stay clear of LeaonaColin.

Reblog if you are employed / have a full time job and are a fanfic writer who still actively writes and posts new chapters / new works.

My friend says you can’t be an adult, have a full time job and be a fanfic writer at the same time, because you’ll have to sacrifice your writing, fandom activities, for your career. And I just… don’t think that’s the case? At all? Unless I’m missing something? Unless I’m doing it wrong by being employed and still writing fanfics?

Baby, bless your heart but four months isn't old by any means and ao3 isn't fucking instagram. Comment on fics you like, regardless of how old they are! The worst that could happen is you make an author's day. Writing is art, not content.
