it's real . all of the stories , the legends ... and it's real .

don't lose your wit . i believe you'll have need for it yet .

~ I just want to mention that I fully believe Shelob is capable of speech. She just very rarely does. After all, she was able to communicate with Gollum somehow and her offspring, the spiders living in Mirkwood, were able to speak as well since Bilbo hears them talk about the dwarves. It just makes sense that their mother can speak too.

"She..she did?" Sam asked in disbelief. He had always wondered if Rosie thought or spoke about him at all. It was foolish to think that she wouldn't at times, considering they spent time together when they were younger. In reality, Rosie must be more than aware of his existence and must have fond memories of their times together. Yet there was this irrational fear that this wasn't the case. The fear that she didn't like him at all or even thought he was creepy. Sam knew he couldn't help but stare sometimes. He hated the thought she noticed and it made her uncomfortable.

"What did she say about me?" he asked, shifting a little so he could face Estella. He wanted to be sure she wasn't kidding. "Please tell me." he said, sounding almost desperate. "And be honest." Sam was hoping Estella didn't try to kid him. If Rosie really did speak of him so highly, maybe he really did have a chance.

In concept, what Estella said didn't sound too difficult and even if it was just meaningless small talk, it was better than nothing. Then again, it sounded a lot easier than it was. What if he messed up, stumbling over his own words or say something she didn't like? Sam knew he was overthinking this. He knew, but he couldn't stop himself from doing that. This was the love of his life and he'd never forgive himself if he'd ruin that for himself. What if he'd hurt Rosie's feelings or make things awkward between them? He didn't want that. "Maybe.." he sighed, fiddling with a blade of grass he pulled from the ground. His eyes widened when she suggested that she could talk to her in his stead. "NO!" he blurted out before realizing how loud this probably was. Sam took a deep breath. "I have to do this..myself." he spoke, looking down at the blade of grass between his fingers. "If I can't do this by myself, I don't deserve her."

~ Tbh thinking about deleting this blog or at least put it on a permanent hiatus. I have like..one thread here and nobody else in the fandom seems particularly interested in writing with me. Maybe it's due to the muses I have.

Sam looked at Estella, caught off guard by the sudden mention of Rosie. She probably noticed him staring at her. He bit his lower lip as she reminded himself that he should really stop doing that. At least in such am obvious manner. Him liking Rosie Cotton was indeed not a bit secret to anyone and it was his fault for not being very good at hiding it. "Oh come on.." he sighed and shrugged, sounding a little defeated. "What do I even talk to her about? I'd probably just bore her to death." It wasn't like they never talked at all. It was no secret that Samwise had a crush on her dear friend, Rosie Cotton. Anyone could see it clear as day...at least anyone who had bothered paying attention to their surroundings in the first place. While her brother was often hanging around Sam and his friends, sometimes Estella would tag along, getting to know them well herself.

She gently elbowed the gardener, nudging him. "You do know you could try talking to her? Girls like that."
