This was sent to me today by this beautiful woman who has become a fighter for Hannah. I had the incredible opportunity to have lunch with her today. She is an important figure who I will keep anonymous but put her very busy schedule and her family aside for me. She told me it reminds her of me. I had a chance to share my life with her. My journey across country from southern California to escape an abusive father. My meeting Sara while I sat in the University parking lot crying because my old car died. Sara rescuing me from being homeless and no where to go when the semester ended. Meeting her beautiful 13 year old sister at the time, Hannah. This person said I had been a drifter. Searching and hoping. When I lost my precious Sara in 2019, I thought my fairytale life had ended. Shortly after Sara died, Hannah asked if she could move in with me. She had become my best friend. We laughed together, we cried together and we reminisced of the wonderful times we had together. Sara and I took Hannah everywhere. Whether it was an overseas adventure or a local concert. Hannah is five years younger than me. In many ways she is more mature and has more wisdom than I do.
Hannah is a warrior, a fighter. No matter what is thrown at her she seems to find a wat to overcome it. Well right now, she is in the fight of and for her life. After a long surgery, unbearable pain consumes her. We don't know if it is permanent but she has no feeling in her right leg but can mover her toes a little on her left side. Each night I sit, alone, and wonder what is next. This amazing family has endured more than anyone should.
She has the best care the country has to offer. A gifted team that works so hard for her. So I ask you for this. Say a prayer for Hannah. Send her all the positive vibes you can muster up. All the well wishes. Keep your hope and faith.
You are always welcome to send her messages on either of her blogs. @dreamsagain or @dreamsofhannah2. When she is able she will read them and I'm sure she will respond. I promise I do not read any of them. You can also message me here as well.
Thank you for listening to me. I just needed to say what was on my mind. Thank you
-Lauren
