Ohhhh my god rewatching Star Trek First Contact and we’re at the part where the Borg Queen starts making me deeply, deeply uncomfortable…

I hate hate haaaaate her so bad bc she is so unbelievably creepy to Data. Like nothing overtly sexual happens, so I hesitate to call it SA or something like that but she very much assaults him in the sense that he is unwilling to be party to her evil intentions (functionally trying to enslave all of humanity) and her creepy ass overtures towards him and yet she still forcibly installs organic components into him. Like it’s crazy bc ik that if the roles were reversed, it would so obviously be seen as assault in a deeply invasive way but they just never address it after that movie and it kills me. He may have ‘had his emotion chip deactivated’ at various times throughout the movie but surely there was trauma to work through the moment he reactivated it after what she did to him. Which we know he did- reactivate the chip at some point. Idk man i just think it could’ve been handled with more care and maybe we didn’t need to have the main villain act like that towards the one character who already has trouble understanding his emotions. And then never address that again. Idk tho I’m just talking.
