ABILITIES/SKILLS: Stephen’s studies of the mystic arts have afforded him proficiency in a number of magical abilities, including: illusion creation and projection, conjuring, transmutation, spellwork, alchemy, mirror dimension magic, and astral projection. Through spellwork, Stephen can also levitate both himself and objects, but mostly relies on his Cloak of Levitation for this. Using his Sling Ring, Stephen can create portals to travel from one location to another. Magic stuff aside, Stephen is in possession of a genius-level intellect, and courtesy of his academic training and illustrious career as a neurosurgeon, is both very knowledgeable and skilled in medicine.

ANY HEADCANONS YOU WANT OTHERS TO KNOW: Grief and loss have been a cloud hanging over Stephen’s life since the death of his sister, which he blames himself for, as a child. As such, he has built a wall between himself and the rest of the world, finding it more comfortable to keep a distance through his knowledge, his arrogance, etc. That being said, Stephen has a soft spot for young people who have also lost someone, and tends to take them under his wing. He cares deeply, wants to save lives — and wants to help.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT EMPEROR DOOM? Doom is a dangerous threat — potentially multiversal level. He’s someone for Stephen to keep close tabs on as he tries to figure out how to stop further incursions.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT THE BATTLES? ARE THEY TRYING TO AVOID THEM? OR ARE THEY EAGER TO JUMP IN? Stephen will fight when necessary, but also knows that this situation is delicate on many levels — not only with Doom himself, potentially, but also for the fragile multiverse to collapse even further. The safety of the multiverse, the safety of everyone, is paramount, and not being smart about this won’t help anyone.

WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED THEIR JOB POSITION? WILL THEY USE IT TO GET CLOSER TO DOOM? OR WILL THEY USE IT EXPLOIT HIM? OR DO THEY SIMPLY LIKE THEIR JOB? Stephen’s current position is, of course, reflective of his skills; that simply makes sense. It is also, potentially, a way to earn Doom’s trust — and to better keep an eye on him.
