You know the Merlin writers were really out to hurt us because before Arthur gets mortally wounded, before he pushes Merlin away out of disgust after finding out he’s a sorcerer, before Arthur dying in Merlin’s arms and ripping our hearts out of our very chests, they give us a scene where Arthur thinks that Merlin has forsaken him in his hour of greatest need. 

He thinks that Merlin is just too cowardly to come with him when he really needs him, when he’s terrified and facing off against two of the people he loved the most, and he thinks Merlin is just giving up on him???

i saw in a post on here that Sir Josh Keaton once said “fans will leave after season 7, but just wait… just wait. it’s written as a slow burn.” i’m sure many people have talked about this a lot already, but now that season 7 is out, i’ve been thinking abt it. “fans will leave after s7” he says……. interesting. i feel like his reasoning for that would be about ships/lgbt rep, most definitely, with the very little amount of klance, and OF COURSE the killing off of adam. but he also said “just wait” which is what gets me, because what are we waiting for?

a lot of people say that allurance is the slow burn ship they talk about… and i GUESS that could b valid… even though i don’t particularly like saying that bc of lance’s immediate attraction towards her, that he didn’t hesitate to show. many many times. but HERE’S THE THING

allurance fans wouldn’t leave after season 7. they had their moments. they blushed at each other and got teased by veronica. so they’re not the ones supposedly leaving. and they’re not the ones who have to wait.

klancers would “leave” or lose hope or whatever, bc allurance moments and whatever’s going on with keith and acxa. but that’s because we’re the ones who have to wait. because it’s written as a slow burn, like he says.

klance is gonna become canon in season 8, because what other slow burn would we be waiting for?

lance has a confirmed endgame, but allurance shippers don’t have to wait, and they wouldn’t leave, so that’s out. plance has already been confirmed to have a sibling bond by jeremy. i believe hunk and lance have the same. and shiro and lance….. lance looks up to shiro so much, and not to mention the age gap, i feel like shance would just be weird (just my opinion). and the other characters he could end up with? like romelle or whatever… how could that be a slow burn?

i may be looking too much into this quote, but it makes sense doesn’t it? klancers lose hope after this season, but eight is the one we’re waiting for, because klance is the slow burn ship. because no one else could fit that description.
