I'm a camp counselor and a Mechanisms fan. This means I have a unique opportunity of influence on kids who think I'm cool. I have used this power not for evil, but for my own amusement. I've been shouting "JONNY D'VILLE, YOUR HUMBLE CAPTAIN" and i have trained my loyal hoard of a dozen 10 year olds to shout back "FIRST MATE" and its quite possibly the best thing ive ever done. I shouldn't be as proud of this as I am, but it works better than any other attention getter I've ever used.

genuinely cant believe im having to say this in the year of our lord 2024 but since media literacy is evidently dead; what we do in the shadows has never been and will never be queerbait. even if nandor and guillermo didnt speak for the rest of the season and nandor got a girlfriend (which, by the way, as if), the show would still not be queerbait.

we still would have gotten to see guillermo come to terms with his identity as a gay man and come out to his family. we still would have seen the normalised bisexuality/pansexuality and polyamory represented amongst the vampires, where no one blinks an eye if same sex attraction is expressed. we still would have had the pride parade episode, where the vampires all got to experience their first pride in their small town.

like i want nandermo to be cannon as much as the next guy, but even if that doesn’t happen, i can still appreciate everything the show has done for its queer audience.

Is Guillermo going to get killed this season, only to be made into a vampire permanently this time, and the "bittersweet " ending is him accepting his new life as a vampire (and knowing that he'll outlive his human loved ones) after finally accepting that he will never be a vampire and accepting human life. Like a "no wait, I was comfortable! I liked being a human! Now I have to be a vampire, or I die completely!" And dealing with the bittersweetness of finally getting what he wanted, at the cost of his humanity????????
