gollum and smeagol in my head debating whether to convert the pool of two nvmes from a stripe to a mirror pool

But since there's only 2 nvme slots in the motherboard, I would have to pull out a spare 2tb drive, plug it in, make sure it passes a long SMART test, make a temp pool, transfer the pool, replace the drives, then transfer the pool again. Is it worth the hassle for not having the risk of all app configs disappearing if one of the current nvmes fail? Probably. Do I want to go through that? Most certainly not. Will I do it? Unfortunately likely

I find it kind of stupid how 'half full' vs 'half empty' is framed as an optimist/pessimist thing. If it starts full and gets halfway drained, it's half empty. If it starts empty and gets halfway filled, it's half full. If you don't know the starting state it's both simultaneously.
