One of the few things that Vincent does to get away from the hustle and bustle of Night City is to go for a drive and spent some time in nature. Most of the time he goes to the dam viewpoint and just parks up on the hill, watching the city go by, but other times he'd drive out to the Badlands to just stare up at the night sky.

Although he loves Night City, the one thing that he always misses is how little light pollution there was back on the sea. Could always see the stars back then.

Born on the seas, raised in NC, Vincent's life has been a rather simple affair according to himself. A former Nomad of the independent ABC islands of the Lesser Antilles, Vincent was sent to Night City to live with his grandmother when he was 6 years old - not just for his safety (whatever that truly meant at the time), but also for the possibility of his grandmother helping him to achieve more in life than just the nomadic sea life (again, whatever that meant at the time).

His grandmother, Ruthmila "Black Oil IV" Mulder, was a renowned Techie in Vista Del Rey, running her own repair shop where she helped the people around her as well as the Valentinos when they came crawling into her shop. She was known for her skills with most tech, but especially her knowledge of cyberware and how to maintain them - a necessity when living in the poorest sub-district of Heywood. Vincent assisted her in the shop (technically was forced to), learning from her and growing up to become a worthy protégé, enough to inherit her handle of "Black Oil" and the street cred it carried, which in turn allowed her to retire and settle for once.

But inheriting that street cred unintentionally put a target on Vincent's head: One day, whilst spending time with his then boyfriend Andrés - a Valentino gangoon - Vincent's outdated Neural Link was easily hacked into by a netrunner hired by someone out for his grandmother and who stupidly thought that he was Black Oil IV. The hack was initially intended to kill, but failed to do so - instead it had caused permanent damage to his eyes and leading to them getting immediately replaced with cybernetic optics, lest Vincent was permanently blind with no way of fixing it.

After that day, Vincent became scared of that event ever happening again. He began to focus on upgrading his cyberware a lot - especially his eyes, getting money to get new ones or simply maintaining what he already had to the point that he began to experiment with making modifications and creating his own custom build cyberware by frankensteining what he already had together. He also began to dabble in netrunning, specifically to have high quality I.C.E. to keep people from ever attempting to try zeroing him again. And though Andrés had gotten revenge for him by finding and killing the amateur netrunner who did this to Vincent, it didn't matter much in the end as Andrés was zeroed in return for it. In remembrance, he'd get roses tattooed on his abdomen, the least he could do for Andrés.

His grandmother would die a few years later after Andrés - or at least, Vincent believes she did. She had up and left one day, never to be seen again. And though Vincent would never outright say it out loud, he hopes she managed to get back to the docks she called home.

But through these troubles that plague him, Vincent moves on into the future; He keeps the business running and goes on to try and enjoy his life a little - Drugs, alcohol, people and upgrades keep him going. And he changes and grows so much that the district now knows him by the name that he chose and the title he carries, and even if they roll their eyes at him and his antics, he doesn't really care.

He moves on and continues doing what he does best as Black Oil V.

His signature sunglasses belonged to his grandmother.

A surprisingly competent driver given his track record of mostly drinking and getting high. Vincent takes part in street races for the adrenaline rush and the quick cash. Loves tuning up a car for a race.

Once wanted to be a musician, but dropped that dream rather quickly. Is pretty good on the guitar.

His weapons of choice are revolvers, pistols and his cyberware. He also enjoys quick hacking as well as maneuvering and moving around a lot.

Does parkour to keep active outside of work.

His expertise is in cyberware, but he's pretty much able to tune up and upgrade anything he gets his hands on and takes a moment to learn its inner workings.

Speaks English, Spanish, Papiamentu and Dutch.

His Dutch is somewhat rusty, but he understands it well enough. Papiamentu is also getting rustier what with him being one of the few that can speak it, but he tries to practice that more often than his Dutch.
