Something that hit me with your latest batch of Erik drawings is how much he looks like Peter Cushing. Is this something you're doing on purpose or some strange coincidence?

YAY, I love that you noticed that. YES. Peter Cushing's been a big visual influence on my Erik for years and years. I think he would've made a beautifully sensitive Erik if he'd ever gotten to play him.

Oddly enough, before I even made the connection, my Erik looked a lot like him. Then, when I was watching a random Hammer film years back, I thought, "Oh, my gosh. I've been drawing Peter Cushing this whole time." So it wasn't intentional from the get-go, but it's certainly a major design influence now!

The man had such a great (cadaverous) face, and I love him even more because according to all accounts, he was an absolutely lovely person.
