Does anyone remember when Mr Blue Sky was a meme circa 2018, or was I crazy?

Rest in peace, Richard Tandy.
March 26, 1948—May 1, 2024
This man… was awesome. I love his personality, he always made sure to remain peaceful, calm, and friendly. He always wanted to be there for his friends and wanted nothing more than to make his fans happy. I always felt seen, with his odd little quirks and his passion to be as talented as possible, and as kind as possible. I always loved reading about the funny things he did as written in Bev’s book, like shoving grocery food in his suitcases and hanging out in his room watching tv with said food suitcases. I especially love his music skills—his glittery style of playing the keyboard and piano make my heart melt and my soul sing. Watch the RockPalast music video and listen to any song from Out of the Blue and you’ll know what I’m talking about. Not to mention his singing voice. It was good on the vocoder, but also like how it sounds naturally as well, even when he’s talking! I love watching interviews of him, like the one from 1978 with Melvyn Gale in Japan, and the one in 1974 with the rest of the band in Germany.
My lovely, eccentric, tranquil individual, who I love so dearly, has now joined the blue skies above. No longer will we see him on planet Earth, which is a sad affair, but regardless, I thank him for all the work he’s done for society.
I have shed tears for this poor guy, and I might continue to. A lot of us will, and that is okay and good. Not everyone will, and that is also alright. We all grieve over our dearly departed loved ones in unique ways, and that is valid.
Im just glad he can finally have peace.
I love you, Richard. I will always love you, forever. Goodbye, farewell, and you will be missed.
—Rose

Just want to make one more post;
*content warning for talks of death & dying*
To the ELO community, it’s ok if you want to take it easy for the next couple of days. Grieve. If you need to cry, cry. Death is never easy, and it’s harder when it’s someone you look up to. Drink some water, eat some comfort food. Take it easy the next couple of days.

ELO wouldn't have been the same without him. just an incredibly talented man who contributed so much to music. honestly I think we were incredibly lucky to see him as a member of ELO and for him to stick with the band for as long as he did. rest in peace, Richard.

Writing this with tears in my eyes… Richard Tandy, you were an amazing keyboard player, the keyboard player in my favorite band. I cannot believe you are gone, but I know you’ve found peace, free from any pain you may have felt. Free to play in the great gig in the sky. Richard, we love you, and I hope you’ve reached the highest form of peace there is…
