Was going to animate something.

Then I remembered that I can't animate fucking nothing in Cinema 4D because I'm horrible at animating.

So here is a still image of what I was doing before I closed Cinema 4D.

(oh come on, it isn't that bad, I only used the Minecraft assets because that's the only thing I had on my Cinema 4D)

The cool thing is the rig, which allows for easy manipulation of the poses (and even allows to create some fancy 3D animations!)

Just for fun I rigged Katy Kat on Cinema 4D (and yeah, I’m not a professional, heck, I don’t even know how to do almost anything in Cinema 4D) and here is the result of me having a bit of fun with it.

Happy birthday Parappa!

Today marks the 20th anniversary of Parappa the Rapper’s initial release!

Back in the PlayStation 1 days, Parappa was one of the unofficial mascots for the console. With his face being well known in the gaming sphere. Parappa’s popularity got him a spin-off game, “Um Jammer Lammy”, in 1999, and a direct sequel, “Parappa the Rapper 2”, for the PlayStation 2.

The series even had an anime based off it! Though it didn’t run all that long, and it wasn’t the most popular.

Unfortunately, after that, there was virtually nothing. Sony appeared to have forgotten about it’s Rapper IP in favor for other games and opportunities.

In the last 15 years since Parappa 2 was released, all The Hip Hop hero has gotten was a PSP port in 2007, and a spot in the fighting game “PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royal.”

His popularity and relevance dwindled into almost nothing, leaving only a cult following who still believes in him, after all these years. That is, until last December where Parappa 2 became available for the PlayStation 4. It was a small gesture, but it was nice.

Then August of this year came along and out of the blue, news of a new Anime Series consisting of short, 90 minutes episodes came about. Even though it is a Japan exclusive series, it was nice that Parappa was relevant again.

Then, just a few days ago at PSX 2016, Parappa the Rapper Remastered: 20th Anniversary Edition was announced. A sharper, prettier version of the original classic is coming out next year! This had people talking. Parappa was now topical once more, just like back in the PlayStation 1 days.

Hopefully this will usher in new fans, new players of the game, new fan art, new fanfiction, new discussions on Parappa.

Hopefully, Sony will catch on, and hopefully…we will get a brand new Parappa game.

20 years has gone by, but let us all make sure that in the next 20 years, Parappa will not fall into obscurity.

Support Rodney Greenblat and Masaya Matsuura. Support Parappa Remastered, support the anime. Support fan art of Parappa, Support fanfiction of Parappa. Introduce your friends to Parappa. Do whatever you can to make Parappa a memorable figure once more.

The only way to do this is to follow the words of our young, rapping hero.
