I think one of the traps I fell into when I first started taking commissions as an artist is that I knew I was still learning, so it felt disingenuous to take money for my work. This is silly for two reasons:

Art has an infinite skill ceiling; you will never stop learning and improving

If my manager at my day job told me they weren't paying me for the time I spent training I would kill them

There's a fine line between letting go of your fear of being cringe and accepting your genuine self completely and wholeheartedly, and becoming a completely unhinged shameless gross little feral animal, and I'm going to snort it.

I would still use my turn signals in the Mad Max Wasteland. They'd call me "Signal" because I'd hit my blinker before ramming the enemy hot rods into the side of a desert ravine. I'd use my turn signal every time. They would respect me for this.
