Sooooo gross! I love you so much
Props to mr highlynerdy - will from now on integrate “helping me with ✨projects✨” into what may be important for a partner 🧡🧡
💛💛💛
Please allow me to take a moment to brag on him because yes, I think that everyone should integrate that into their relationship goals. As a bit of an older person here on the tumblr, I think it is soooo important for your partner to be enthusiastic about what you love. And I don't think that means that he needs to love all the things I love. But he is always, ALWAYS down to hear me infodump or tell him about whatever it is that I'm excited about in the moment (that may be because we both have ADHD lol, but still). Whether it's the new show I'm watching, the thing I'm knitting, the recipe I'm interested in, it doesn't matter. He is stoked about it.
I asked if he could make me a wooden skeleton key for the Merlin Round Robin fest from a few years ago because I had an idea™️. And he spent an entire day making options.
He's built me many garden beds because I love to grow sunflowers.
Built me beautiful shelves in my favorite color to hold my favorite very pretty things in my art room. As well as that plant stand that hold my oldest house plant.
And he made his coworkers gorgeous cutting boards as gifts during the pandemic because everyone needs a gorgeous cutting board.
Perhaps I'm feeling a little sappy because it's less than 3 weeks until we celebrate our 11 year anniversary, but I truly hope all of you out there find a partner as wonderful as @mr-highlynerdy.

Waiting for me very own highlynerdy original
My first time (semi) drafting my own pants pattern!
A few of the sewing details if anyone is interested.
They're definitely not perfect, but I just wanted something cozy and comfy and I had this sturdy double knit fabric in my stash that was perfect for a trial.
I started with the ES Florence pants, which a beautifully drafted pattern but is meant for woven materials. I've made two pairs in a super drape-y viscose/linen (but never photographed). (This is a model shot of the pants.)
I was a little worried about the sizing issues since this is not meant for knits but I hope/figured the stability of the double knit wouldn't be too far off.
I cut the XL Short size since those matched my waist and height measurements just like the woven pairs I've made but made these changes: -I took an inch out of the total rise -an inch and a half off the height of the waistband -just did a normal channel waistband instead of the attached the pattern calls for -used 1.5 inch wide elastic instead of 2 inch -took two inches off the length since I didn't plan to hem these because the fabric won't unravel or fray -seamed with my serger instead of sewing -and did no topstitching -I haven't done it yet, but I think I will go back through and add four vertical lines through the elastic waistband at the sides and front and back to keep the elastic from shifting
I think I will definitely try this again with a bamboo/rayon fabric with the following changes: -in addition to the rise alterations, I want to figure out how to take a bit out of just the front crotch since so much fabric seems to gather there -I might try to take some of the width out of the legs since the XL in knit fabric doesn't drape quite the same as woven fabrics -might take just one inch out of the length
This photo makes me look a little bit like a hobbit, but I am only 5'4" so...lol.
Also, the shirt is one of @mr-highlynerdy's that no longer fit him so I chopped off four inches of the length and took of the sleeve hems. Please pay no attention to how outrageously pale my stomach is...it never sees sunshine lol.

Fishing for information?
a dude came into the library stoned out of his mind and was like, “do I need a library card to look at books?” And I said, “to take books home, yes. To look at them, no” and he looked so relieved. bro was staring at a fish encyclopedia for like an hour and then just left.

So I wanted to know what kind of crystal could go in a wizard staff, right? so I googled “big crystal,” as one does, and got an Etsy ad for This
And as you all know I Am currently taking a geology class, so I am probably more emotionally invested in minerals than usual. But that is...very obviously not a natural crystal.
So I did some looking around on Etsy.
Now, these shops all seem to advertise to the “witchy”/“spiritual healing” type of person. And there are a lot of them. Crystals are a Big Thing on Etsy. And ALMOST ALL of them are obviously artificially cut into the same sort of prism with a triangular pyramid top, regardless of the actual sort of crystal it is supposed to be.
Even like, fucking, obsidian. Obsidian is volcanic glass, it doesn’t form crystals at all, it is not a crystal
I’m not throwing any shade at people who are into crystals for like witchy reasons, but it really seems like if crystals are spiritually important to you, you should know what a crystal is...right...?

I also have the same issues! I might try this as well. Ty
hi mr gaiman man. I think your stuff is super cool and awesome, but I've never been able to finish any of your books — I have a lot of trouble with reading paragraphs of text (I reread lines multiple times and skip chunks by accident) and it makes it almost impossible to finish reading.
I really really want to finish one of yours though, and I'm wondering if there are any versions out there that have the text broken up into easier parts, or that somehow separate the lines to make them easy to read?
thanks from an adhd haver :)
Hmm. Well, the easiest options for you might be either to go for the audio books, or to go for the comics -- either the original comics, like Sandman, or the adaptations of prose into comics form, which Dark Horse have been doing now for about 20 years, so we have several novels and many short stories in comics form.
Normally they have the text of the books, but broken up and laid out visually. Here's a page from Colleen Doran's adaptation of Snow, Glass, Apples:
I hope this helps...
