it isn't particularly difficult to tell how disinterested lucifer is in the current conversation. he's trying, he really is ( for charlie's sake and charlie's sake alone, ) but it's been far too long since the king has been expected to participate in mindless banter. he's opted to just smile and nod along to the spiders words rather than struggle to catch his brain up with ... whatever it is anton? andrew? angel is talking about. how long has lucifer been zoned out? somewhere between three and twenty five minutes.

the fallen shifts into a more comfortable position in his seat ( leaned against one armrest with legs swung over the other, practically draping himself over the chair, ) expecting more of the same, until --

❝ oh, hello! ❞ animal spotted! baby voice activated. if angel WERE saying anything when lucifer caught sight of fat nuggets waddling over, he had been promptly interrupted. the devil swings his whole body right back where it was before, leaning forward and attempting to usher the pig towards him. ❝ whose sweet widdle baby is this? ❞

immortal being of light that he is, "sleep" is not essential to lucifer's survival -- but that doesn't mean he doesn't do it! his sleep schedule is admittedly infrequent ( he typically goes months on end without resting, ) but when he does sleep, he is OUT. he is the heaviest sleeper known to man. his record is nearly fifteen years straight.

also about my lucifer's current relationship with w/lilth:

they are. not together. they're still legally married ( hence why he still wears his ring ) and he is very much still in love with her ;; but for all intents and purposes, they are separated, and have been since charlie was a pre-teen.

they're still the king and queen, they still went to events together ( before lucifer became a COMPLETE shut-in, ) they still had the occasional family portrait commissioned, but. it isn't the same.

just saw the theory that lucifer WAS actually going to show up to the trial, but ended up going to the hotel to deal with adam instead, and that's why he was dressed up in the hh finale. that's why he was late. because showing up was very much a last minute decision.

this could also explain why so many hellborn in pride were at home when the trial was broadcast ;; it was extermination day. it's hard to tell when exactly hazbin and helluva are taking place relative to each other, but let it be known this is the case for my luci!
