Melodic humming and the sweet scent of baked sweets floods out of the kitchen doorway. Holly putters around the space leaving ingredients and utensils in her wake. The baking bug had bitten her earlier that day, and now the counters were filled with cooling cookies and cakes of various flavors and sizes.

Putting a muffin tin into the oven, she straightens and wipes her brow, leaving a trail of flour across her forehead, adding to mess across her cheek and apron. She’ll notice eventually, but for now she turns back to a set of cookies that have cooled down enough for her to start decorating. Spreading some buttercream she prepared before hand, she’s blissfully unaware of whoever comes into the kitchen.
