in the midst of all this live-action tangled chaos, my biggest fear is not, in fact, miscasting (although it's pretty high up there). i'm far more worried about the series.

if they stray from the series or try to provide new reasoning for things we already found out about, real fans are going to get upset. there's a stark difference between movie fans and franchise fans, just like in any fandom, and i really hope disney decides to embrace that rather than discard it. the series is so important to so many people. i'd love to see it more represented when they do end up making the live-action.

(and then there's the matter of the mother knows best book, which... had better not be a defining factor. i will riot.)

So they announced a live action Tangled movie and I really don't care about Disney live action remakes but man, Tangled is my very favorite Disney movie and I feel like they can only fuck this up so I'm really scared because it's such a gorgeous movie and I just know seeing news about the casting and stuff this is gonna take an emotional toll on me... that being said. If they cast Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel then I might just be okay
