i’ve just seen something that’s made me incredibly angry.  i don’t think many people need reminding,  we’ve come a long way but some people do.  

roleplay is a hobby,  none of us owe anybody anything.  your blog is your safe space where you post the content that you want to ( within reason,  you know what i’m talking about. )  if you want to block / soft block someone because of the character they write,  then do so.  if you as a mun want to post little / minimum ic content but reblog tons of aesthetics posts,  then do so.  if you are uncomfortable with duplicates,  that’s okay.  if you want to be canon reliant on one form of origin,  that’s also okay.  if someone else is making you uncomfortable and you block them,  justifiable.  if you take ten mins or 10 weeks to reply to someone,  do it.  if you want tiny icons or huge icons,  you do you.

you do not guilt anyone if they do any of the above and more.  roleplay is a form of creativity and art,  there are no two the same.  there is also no rule book on how someone is to run their blog.  there is a block / unfollow button for a reason,  we are not forced to follow anyone.  

your blog is your safe space,  it is not defined by others.  roleplay is a hobby,  your mental & physical health comes first.  you never sacrifice that.

the conversation with aunt may in the car where shes like “i know its hard for u right now with ur body going through all these changes” and like ! the way she says it as well?? like this is not a parental figure talking about cis puberty… she seems genuinely upset for him and like ?? what if they cant afford hormones/blockers just yet and he has to wait longer etc ?? what if hes had to go off hormones/blockers bc they cant afford it this month??? and then his response isnt just like embarrassed “stop it aunt may im a teen!!” he seems genuinely distraught that she brought it up, bc he wasnt expecting it and now thats something ELSE on his mind and like . woah man

the whole conversation with aaron like .. a) aaron misgenders peter bc he thought his voice was ‘’’’’a girls voice’’’’’’ and i mean.. peters not 11 hes 15.. im p sure aaron wouldnt have misgendered him if peters voice sounded “’’’’cis’’’’’’’; and b) peters response is like IMMEDIATELY very upset + on the defensive and like tbh embarrassed? but in a different way to how a cis man is embarrassed by being misgendered… hes not insulted hes just… upset. Sad .

it also like explains peter being bullied at school altogether ? like hes also like a weird fanboy + doesnt like parties + hes a weird introvert + he has a non-nuclear family so hes probably bullied about a lot of things but if he was out as trans that would kick it into second gear which explains like a whole bunch of randoms who have an inexplicable problem with him and like the snickering behind his back + shit

So, I’ve personally never seen any posts supporting or praising writers who have a clean, sparse style so this is one’s for them. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re a bad writer just because you don’t write flowery, extravagant prose full of metaphors and obscure words. Vocabulary and metaphors aren’t the only things that makes writing “good”. Rhythm, tone, clarity, word choice, and voice also makes writing good. And you know what? You can achieve that with minimal description and a complete lack of metaphors. Your writing, no matter how minimalist it is, is just as valid and just as good as pretty, flowery prose.

She wasn’t put off by his words to say the least, but Harleen was never privy to making friends with people who she didn’t deem ‘necessary’ to win over. Grimacing at the others wards, she still seemed so perfectly balanced on the rounded bars. “I’m sorry, but I don’t particularly care to make friends with someone whose over half my age. I’m sixteen, you weirdo.” She snarled at him. beginning to balance walk across the make shift beam.  “I s’pose I can’t talk though. My partner likes to call me Harley Quinn like the harlequins. Not very original either.” She was at least able to recognize her own flaws. But still, she gave him a polite, forced smile. 

“And no, I don’t. I’ve got too many important things to do to worry about a job I don’t need when I have my parents to support me.” Her voice was a bit harsher towards him now. Why was he still bothering with this conversation when she could be half way home by now?

Something about this mans presentation intrigued her. Bringing back some odd ball memories of her own. Something something Jerome… Something Something Penguin… She watched his movement, glancing down at her hands. Well, he was right about something, this place was pretty dirty. Her hands had lines of soot on them from where she gripped the bars to do her back bends. But she was so used to having powder on them like a normal gymnastics building, she didn’t even notice. 

Harleen cocked her head and couldn’t help but giggle at the way he announced his name. The back of her hand covering her mouth as she chuckled. 

“I really should’ve guessed.” She admitted between the squeaks in her voice. “Listen, Mistah Riddler, Are you kicking me out or are you just going to stand there and ramble off to me? Cause i’m perfectly fine up here minding my own business and you going about your way and minding yours.” Harleen wasn’t typically the rude one, at least not at this point in time. But this man clearly had no contacts to her or her family so as far as keeping up appearances, she couldn’t care less. 

The brunette was peering around them. If she needed to prepare to run, she was already making mental notes of exactly what would be in her reach to grab. Bars, wires, how far the drop from the low hanging bar is to the ground. Yeah, I could probably make that. She thought before her eyes went back to The Riddler. 

“Y’know, for someone who’s schtick is to make riddles in order to fuck with people, you didn’t come up with a very clever name.” 

❝I am simply trying to make a new friend!❞ he says in a tone that indicated he is offended it, but also excited about the prospect of making a friend. Or at least, that is what he is going for.  ❝But… ❞ he glances at her, disappointingly  ❝Apparently you do not wish to do that.❞ Something both clever and stupid, he thinks. Clever because she should not just trust anyone in Gotham. Stupid because insulting people in Gotham can be very deadly indeed. Thankfully for this young woman, Edward Nygma is not known to kill mercilessly, or to kill altogether, unless he had to. Now what constitutes as ‘have to’ is up to interpretation. 

❝As for my name…Do you really think it is unfitting or dull? Have you really not heard of others’ nicknames?❞ he huffs, remembering how Oswald did not like his name either, but he suspects that had to do more with their little conflict and not with ‘Riddler’.  ❝Nevertheless…I will let you go back to your…business.❞ he pauses as if he is about to do that. But then he holds a finger up  ❝Before I do that…tell me, my dear. Do you have a job?❞

Misc. Fae Work Tips and Things

it may take a while for the fae to accept your offerings. it can feel a bit disappointing when you leave out the perfect offerings as recommended in the books and articles you read about the fae, only to come back out and see that it wasn’t taken or seems otherwise unaffected. the fae can be quite wary of gifts since that can be a way to find yourself indebted to someone. but once they are able to tell your offerings aren’t a way to get them indebted to you, they’ll start taking them. soon enough, you may even find yourself receiving things back.

make sure the offerings are consistent. when it comes to offerings, the fae like things to be consistent. whether you leave offerings everyday, once a week, once a month, it doesn’t matter. once a pattern has been set, even nonchalantly, the fae will notice and will expect their offerings on the days they determine to be habitual for you to leave them. start slacking off and you may find yourself having a strange trail of bad luck

want to avoid having to leave offerings everyday to avoid the wrath of the fae, don’t make the pattern ‘everyday’. it doesn’t matter how often you leave offerings as long as it’s consistent. personally, for faeries i work with daily, i leave offerings whenever they help me with something. for more casual matters, like the local fae, i leave offerings once a month.

something randomly goes missing in your house? try leaving out a bit of honey then try looking again after 5-10 minutes. you set your remote down on the couch, you know for a fact you set it on the couch, it was set somewhere very easy to see… but suddenly you can’t find it anymore. occasionally, faeries in your house will take and hide things for shits and giggles. usually, i find that leaving some sort of offering will suddenly magically bring your missing items back if you believe it’s the work of house fae

depending on where you live, your local fae can be different. there are all sorts of faeries out there and all depending on where you live, the sorts of fae that may frequent your area can be different compared to another person. for instance, if you live on a tropical island, you likely won’t be seeing any frost pixies in december compared to say, someone living in canada
