jiub eradicates the cliff racers which sets off a chain of ecological reactions that over time devastates the balance of vvardenfell's environment. slaughterfish populations explode with the removal of their biggest predator, which in turn infests the waters of morrowind with the greenspore disease they carry. everything that relies on that water is exposed to the rabies-like illness.

it causes kwama colonies to cease regular egg production, the rats and nix hounds that forage for those eggs are pushed to brave mer-run kwama mines in greater numbers than ever before, kwama mining operations are forced to jack up their prices amidst the outbreak of plague, and the economy of all morrowind is disrupted.

but there's at least a few years of pest-free travel along vvardenfell's foyadas--until the eruption of red mountain in 4E 5, of course, which cliff racers were uniquely situated to best survive, as their nests are tucked away in high-up cliffside ridges. over time the cliff racers of the mainland return to the now empty cliffs of vvardenfell, some made new by the hardened lava flow.

a hundred years later, after the mass exodus of surviving human/mer refugees from vvardenfell, the howls of the racers can once again be heard echoing along foyadas both new and old, and their massive flocks, some numbering as many as a thousand of the flying beasts, still occasionally blot out the sun and cast colossal shifting red rays over vvardenfell's afternoons as if to say "the skies were always ours" :)

Man I know that elder scrolls is a stupid series and all that but I really think they did concepts like orcs and dark elves mostly correct. More correct than a lot of franchises I’ve seen anyways.

Haven't seen anyone talk about this yet - the BDS movement has called for a boycott of Microsoft and it's subsidiaries, which includes Bethesda and Zenimax, for the reasons listed here.

You obviously can't control money you've already given them, but avoiding future releases and subscriptions and just avoiding giving them more money is still in line with the boycott.

fundamentally, I think the theology of The Elder Scrolls is at its most interesting when you assume that every single religion is wrong. mortals are making wild guesses based on rather limited information, and the Divines or Gods or whatever you want to call them—who were metaphysically nerfed in the creation of Mundus—are screaming the way that middle-aged dads scream at their favorite sports team on the television. whatever higher powers exist up in Aetherius, they have been suffering in agony for the last four ages because their little guys on the ground are making shit up as they go along and fighting whole wars about it.
