Here are the three images photo shopped to match what each individual wanted. The one thing I still need to learn how to do is change the shape of body parts (if that is possible). Two women said they would like more defined cheekbones and another wanted a smaller nose. I tried looking up several tutorials and following them, but the only thing I was successful in doing was warping Jill’s face until she looked like a demon so I had to scratch that and start over. The edits were easier to do than I had imagined though. The first picture took me a couple of hours to figure out the tools and settings to keep the picture as realistic as possible, but the others went quicker since I kind of knew what I was doing. Youtube has been a lifesaver for this project

Here are the unedited portraits of the three girls that volunteered to participate-- Madison, Michaela and Jill. Each volunteer allowed me to interview them on camera and take their portrait.Â

Final Project Week 1 Updates:
Over the last week, I was able to accomplish everything I had hoped, but with a few missteps. I checked out a camera, tripod and memory card from the communications department on Tuesday and had it until the end of the week. Finding three people to agree to help me do the project wasn’t hard-- finding a good place to film on campus was. I had the vision in my head of doing this against a white backdrop, but it was really hard to find a quiet place at Fordham that I had access to like that. I tried filming in three different areas (my poor friends): a hallway in Lowenstein (lighting was bright, walls were white, but it was too noisy, even late in the night when I tried to film), a hallway in the new 140 W building (lighting was bright, but it was loud and the walls are a disgusting yellowish/brown color that was not flattering and was not conducive to taking portraits to edit in photoshop) and finally my dorm room in McMahan. Given the available options, this was the best one. It was the only place that I could control the volume, and the walls are a plain light grey. The lighting wasn’t the best, but I collected every lamp I could to make it as bright as possible.Â
One thing that I like about the three videos I filmed thus far is that the girls look real-- I took them off guard when I asked, so everyone was dressed casually-- hair back in ponytails or a headband, sweaters on, no makeup, etc. I think it makes an interesting contrast to have natural looking girls talk about what they would change and what the “ideal” women looks like. Over this next week I will do the photoshop on these three portraits and edit the videos that I have thus far so that I can add the final two after the holiday.Â

Final Project Proposal/Timeline
CONCEPT:
For my final project, I want to make something that acts as a social commentary on the unrealistic expectations society has set for women and how that affects “real women” in our own Fordham community. I will interview 5 female students on campus, on camera, and ask what about themselves they don’t like or would change if they could, why they don’t like that body part/feature, and if they have tried to change it in the past or are considering changing it (dying their hair, getting a nose job, etc.). I will then take their photo and alter it on photoshop to match what they said they wish to change about themselves. In total, I think the video will be around 5 minutes.Â
TIMELINE:
Week One:
-Check out a camera and tripod
-Find three women to agree to do this project and film 3 interviews
-Take the three volunteer’s portraits
Week Two (Thanksgiving):
-Edit the three images on photoshop
-Edit the videos on premiere
-Text/email the three people that I have spoken to and set up another time to get them in front of the camera again to see their altered pictures. This footage may or may not be used in the project, depends on what kind of comments are made.Â
Week Three:
-Find the final two women and film the additional two interviews
-Take the final volunteer’s portraits
-Edit the two videos on premiere
-Edit the two portraits on photoshop
- Text/email the last two people that I have spoken to and set up another time to get them in front of the camera again to see their altered pictures.
-Combine the videos and portraits into one cohesive video project

Audio
Since we recorded these sounds around Halloween, I decided to make a Halloween themed soundscape. My concept for this was a person walks up to a house, knocks on the door, sees and hears some weird things that they can not explain, then tries to leave but is trapped. After running around, the trapped person finally finds a way out…. or so they think.Â
