i think sylvari is narratively one of the best choices for gw2 playable race. your backstory contains main plot lead-ins such as that it is literally your original baked-in lifes pursuit from birth to kill a dragon, and of course the (later disclosed) fact that mordremoth [LONG REDACTING SPOILER HORN]. you know critical characters caithe and trahearne more intimately from the start, which makes caithe’s betrayal more visceral, & you get additional context around the sword caladbolg. plus you just get the gay people drama earlier and see more of it so it’s more contextualized when the divorce court proceedings transpire in heart of thorns. and you have color customizable bioluminescent glow in the dark accents that show up at night Not related to story i just always thought that was a baller avatar detail. all these things point to sylvari as one of the most seamless and satisfying story experiences in the game.   (opens the character creator and makes another charr anyway)

gw2 mount skin pack where the skimmer skin is Zhaitan themed (many wings and long tails — see “open ocean glaucus” skimmer skin) . kralkatorrik is the siege turtle because he is a turtle.

roller beetle is primordus themed, some kind of chunky reptilian armadillo thing, and can roll into a giant flaming boulder , which appears to be the real primordus’ favorite orb. soo-won raptor since raptor attacks with tail. that might look too similar to existing canthan raptors though
