Coming to a party alone always sounded like a drag, but the truth of the matter was that usually it meant you were able to mingle with people without the responsibility of staying in a small group setting. Despite her shy nature, Yoona had been trying to branch out and the party had seemingly been a great place to do so. Dressed as Suki from Fast & Furious, she moved around the room rather easily and questioned if people in the more elaborate costumes were having trouble doing so. Reaching the bar, she'd just settled in when she heard someone call out to her. Smiling sympathetically with a small nodded, she found her past self relating to his dilemma. "Yeah, I get that. I'm sorry they ditched you, but their loss is my gain, right?" Yoona laughed and contemplated his offer. She hadn't come to the party with the intentions of getting drunk, but letting loose wasn't necessarily a bad thing and he seemed trust worthy enough. "I'll have a shot with you." She shot him a beaming smile. "But you have to promise me you'll tell me about your time at Hogwarts if I do."

Oliver wasn't feeling like himself lately, but that's when his siblings had shown up into town and they surprised him. He was glad that they were able to come for Halloween so that he could party with them. He hadn't partied much with his younger siblings since he was always worried about taking care of them. But as usual, they took off with someone random and Oliver, dressed as Harry potter, found himself alone. He ordered himself a drink at the bar and he looked around while he waited. He looked to the person who was closest to him and he smiled, "It's so nice when you're deserted by people who came to town to see you." He chuckled a bit. "I was going to take a shot, are you interested in joining?"

Looking down at the drink in her hand, Yoona wondered if maybe she'd had one too many or if this conversation was really happening. With a soft laugh, she turned towards Shiloh and gave the woman a short nod. "You got it. If it shows up anywhere, I know who to deliver it to." Arching a brow, a look of confusion sweeped across her face. "Wait... you don't think someone tried to eat it, do you?"

"Well..." Yoona started, looking down at her outfit with a small grin tugging at the edge of her lips. "I didn't exactly go down the horror route, so I think my outfit is a cheat for an automatic win." Dressing as Suki from Fast & Furious had been a lot of fun, but it wasn't exactly a hard thing to survive. "Provided I don't lose my ability to drive, I think I'm golden." She smiled over at him. "Do you think you'd survive?"

BIOGRAPHY.
Yoona was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea to a wealthy family until the age of six and had been a relatively happy child. While she'd always felt as though her parents weren't her biggest fans, she was usually always seen with a smile on her face. In her youth, she would often play alongside her older brother, Junseo, who was four years her senior.
Her parents fighting wasn't uncommon in their home, but one night it got particularly bad. News of her father's affair reached Yoona's mother who already had her suspicions. Not wanting to listen to his pitiful attempts at an explanation, she kicked her father out and immediately set a plan in motion. At six years old, Yoona was made to pack up all her belongings and they moved to the States where her grandparents had moved to only a year prior in Aurora Bay's Seabrook Quater.
From then on, everything switched. Being neglected by her parents wasn't anything new, she's always known that they had favoured her brother and the move really changed nothing. If anything, her mother became more resentful over Yoona and one night in a fit of anger, she let it slip that she'd never wanted her, her father hadn't wanted her and it was actually Yoona's grandparents who had talked her mother out of getting an abortion as it was seen as "shameful." Ever since, Yoona has always felt a strong guilt for the life she's lived.
Living in the States was a hard pill to swallow. Yoona was forced to endure a culture she didn't fully understand with a language she couldn't speak. It was a struggle as she was no longer attending a school, she was made to learn at home while trying to catch up with speaking English at the correct level for kids her age growing up in the same place. Her brother really seemed to resent their parents divorce, his frustration to learn a second language and the pressure of it often causing burst of anger that were usually directed at Yoona since she was normally the person by his side.
Her mother decided now that she didn't have a husband to tie her down, she didn't really want her kids doing the same either and so she would often leave for months of years at a time with their grandparents. Yoona's father caught wind of their mother's neglectful ways and when Yoona was eight, her brother was sent for by her father and she hasn't seen him since. It was then she realised her parents really didn't want her and slowly it started to breakdown the carefully laid foundations she'd built. Junseo hasn't sent so much as a letter, but she knows he's okay. Over the years she's kept up with him on social media and has noticed the lavish lifestyle he's lead since returning back to Seoul.
While she wasn't close with her parents and brother, she had always maintained a great realtionship with her grandparents. They tried their hardest to take care of her, but they were much too old to be raising a child and so nannies were often brought in and Yoona would have to learn to communicate with complete strangers most days. She never held it against her grandparents, she'd always understood the love they had for her and never took it for granted.
At nine, her grandfather passed away due to health complications after a heart operation. It was a hard pill to swallow, and Yoona's empathetic nature really tugged at her heartstrings when she realised how distraught her grandmother had become. She'd spend her days trying to cheer the older women up who often put on a brave face that even in her young age, Yoona had always had the ability to see past.
Wanting to be less of a burden towards her grandmother, Yoona tried to stay out of her hair during stressful moments, and so she started taking after school classes to further different hobbies when she was able to. She realised quickly she was no artist, but she absolutely adored dance and so upon realising this, her grandmother enrolled her in real dance classes so she could explore her love for it.
Yoona was a lonely child, despite the love from her grandmother. She didn't have many friends on account of her homeschooling and she'd always been a little shy to talk in dance class, not fully confident in her English despite having learnt how to speak fluently at that point. Seeing her alone most of the day was what prompted Yoona's grandmother to take in a local shelter puppy. Yoona called the small puppy Doja and very quickly, her spark for animals grew.
Over the next year, Yoona's grandmother's health started to deteriorate and rather than being the one looked after, the roles were reserved and Yoona found herself taking care of the older women who she'd always cherished so dearly. It wasn't right, but the idea of being separated from the only real love she knew was terrifying, so Yoona never told anyone of the difficulties she was having at home and continued on like nothing had happened.
At sixteen, Yoona was offered a place in a huge dance academy where many notorious dancers have been discovered. She'd been dancing for years and the offer was tempting, but she knew that if she accepted, she would have to leave her grandmother behind and the idea broke her heart. Although it hurt to do so, Yoona turned down the offer and has been dancing for fun ever since after realising it wouldn't be a feasible career for her.
Her world came crashing down when her grandmother was unresponsive the morning of Yoona's nineteenth birthday. She had peacefully died in her sleep and in the wake of her death, a distraught Yoona was left behind picking up the pieces. She never had much of a childhood, but all her happiest memories related back to her grandmother and the death of her grandmother fit her like a tonne of bricks. Due to this, she no longer celebrates her birthday.
At her funeral, surviving family members and a multitude of her grandmother's friends gathered to say goodbye. The will reading was made straight afterwards where it was revealed that she had left her entire estate and her huge fortune to Yoona, much to her mothers dismay. Despite having enough money to jet around wherever she wanted, she always felt like she was owed more and tried to contest the will while Yoona was still grieving. It was a hard to comprehend, but eventually things settled down and Yoona was provided with the peace she needed to move past the deverstation built up inside of her. Since her grandmother's passing, Yoona has been living in the same house her grandparents raised her in, the home in the Seabrook Quater being her only form of solitude.
Realising she had to get on with her life, Yoona decided to branch out. Though still rather timid, she has made friends. Her social circle might not be the largest, but she's always friendly towards anyonr who wants to chat. Her deep love for animals pushed her to enroll in classes that eventually lead to her degree and later on, her job as a veterinarian. In her spare time, Yoona still dances and finds herself dreading the times her mother will make an unexpected visit, where she often berates Yoona or compares her to the successful brother she has and hasn't seen for twenty years. This has caused years of self hatred that she tries to suppress, but deep down, Yoona really doesn't like herself. She knows she should probably see a therapist about this, but worries too much about being judged.
Yoona feels as though parenthood isn't for her. She had a poor example of a mother growing up and fears she'll turn out the same should she ever have kids. Not only that, but she took care of her grandmother at such a young age, she feels as though she's now somewhat gained a freedom she didn't have before. This has lead Yoona into never developing any serious romantic attachments, because she worries she'll be judged if she brings up the idea of not wanting to be a mom in the future.
Yoona has two dogs and a cat now, all of which she's adopted from shelters. A pomeranian called Miko, a shih tzu called Bo and a black and white cat she called Salem.
PERSONALITY.
There's a lot of pain Yoona masks behind a smile and reassuring words. Never wanting to be a burden to someone else, she often keeps her depressive thoughts to herself. Yoona tends to avoid conflict at all costs, it makes her feel unsafe and uneasy so she always tries not to get involved in such things though if it does occur, she's often too shy to stand up for herself. Though she's good at faking it around other people, Yoona isn't confident at all. She suffers from very dark intrusive thoughts that stimulated from her mother, constantly telling her that she isn't good enough or that there's something wrong with her which has caused a lot of self loathing.
Yoona tends to smile a lot and is kind to those around her, a true ray of sunshine who wants other people around her happy. She's a loyal friend and cherishes those close to her. Yoona is natural a very kind, empathetic person and she is often able to create bonds with people easily because she is such a considerate girl, though she never really expects much back which can sometimes backfire as people have been known to use her kind nature against her. Yoona is a huge animal lover, and would often rather spend her time with them than she would other people.

The party had really gotten into the swing of things, there seemed to be such a positive atmosphere that radiated around everyone and that only further pushed Yoona into a state of bliss. Witnessing everyone having fun, enjoying their evening in fancy dress was one hell of a way to spend the rest of the day.
Yoona had been sitting at the bar for only a moment of two, a place carefully held in the palm of her left hand when she heard Roxy call out to her. With a melodic laugh, she turned to the women in the elaborate costume and nodded only realising how redundant that was a few moments later. "Yeah, that might have been helpful, but hey, you're the best dressed here so that has to count for something." She smiled, taking a sip of her drink. "Oh, well if it helps you visualise, I'm Suki from Fast & Furious." Yoona explained, eyeing the Mothman attire with genuine interest. "How long did that take you to pull together? I'm so impressed."

Roxy sat at the bar in her Mothman costume and thanked the bartender when he brought her a bendy straw as she requested. It made it easier for her to pull up some of the material of her costume and use the straw to take a sip of her drink.
"You know," she began, speaking to the person beside her, "I feel like maybe I should've worn this costume for a few hours before the party so I could've made adjustments because I really can't see in this thing. I would say your costume looks awesome but I can't really tell."

One thing Yoona had always loved about halloween was the holidays ability to bring out the creative streak in everyone. While she'd decided on something that wasn't entirely too difficult to create, other people had really gone to town. Her rendition of Suki from Fast & Furious was undeniably cute, but now that she was at the party, witnessing other people's costumes she almost wished she had tried s little harder. After having done her fair share of mingling, Yoona had decided she was in dire need of another drink and so made her way towards the bar with a bounce in her step. The music and the light buzz from the cocktails she's already consumed furthering her chipper mood. Just as she was approaching, she witnessed something drop out of the corner of her eye and immediately bent down to grab the accidently discarded item. Once she'd stood back to her regular hight, Yoona reached out to tap the gentleman on his shoulder only for her eyes to wided and a sheepish smile to appear on the curve of her lips as she recognised the sharp tone to his voice. "It's a bad day to be Hinata, huh?" She spoke playfully, holding out the small rectangular object. "This fell out of your uh... shorts?" Her eyebrows pinched together as she struggled to identify what he was wearing on his lower half to complete, but she handed him his wallet regardless. "Nice costume, by the way. I love Spongebob."

Being out in such a crowded public place was bad enough, doing so while wearing a purple scallop bikini top was worse, it didn't matter that there was a shirt underneath, he looked ridiculous and though he had no proof, he felt exposed, like everyone was looking at him, judging, laughing, it left him feeling on edge. He couldn't believe Hinata got them into this mess, losing a bet, they now both had to dress as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, he didn't even know who those characters were, just that they looked stupid as fuck. As soon as he entered the space, he practically bee-lined it to the bar, not bothering to grab a barstool, he instead leaned on the surface and waved down the bartender. "Git me a house whiskey...." He started before he considered again. "Actually... make it a double." The adjustment of the order came with him straightening up a bit when he felt someone tap him on the shoulder. "I swear on m'life Hinata, if that's you..." His voice trails off as the glass of whiskey lands in front of him.

Finishing up with work for the day, there was nothing that sounded more appealing than going straight home snd staying there. Most days, that was an option Yoona would have likely jumped at, but for reasons unknown to her, her mother had decided to drop on by after months of no communication and insisted on going out to eat a meal. Dressing respectable (by her mothers standards, at least), Yoona found herself at Fire & Ice listening to cleverly masked insults disguised as valid concerns from a women who looked eerily like her... well, if she were to age twenty three years that is.
The evening droned on in unsettling waves, by the time her mom bid her goodbye and left to jet off to yet another country she hadn't even bothered to tell her only daughter about, the idea of dropping off the face of the earth to a remote place no one would ever find her seemed appealing. Yoona knew she'd dwell on the conversation they just shared for weeks to come, so rather than immediately going home and allowing that process to settle in straight away, she decided to delay the insanity by spending some time nursing a glass of red wine at the bar.
Staring down at the crimson liquid, a steady voice called out to her. For a moment, she hadn't registered that someone was actually striking up a conversation with her, assuming they had a buddy by their side until her gaze shifted to her left and the lone figure of Castillo's frame caught her eye. Deciding to humour him, Yoona innocently shrugged. "I think it says a lot more about them than it does about you." She spoke truthfully, elbow resting against the bar with her hand resting against her chin. "Despite looking like you want to be literally anywhere else, you showed up. That speaks volumes about your character and reliability. You shouldn't worry about their opinion of you. They can't be too kind if they don't even have the decency to drop you a text."

a late-night get-together with the entirety of the justice department was not on castillo's list of 'things he wanted to do tonight'. however, he was an elected official so there was an expectation of him to be convivial. and to hopefully get another term. so, the man swallowed his pride, donned a respectable suit and tie, and brought himself to fire and ice.
leave it to him to get there early. castillo found himself sitting at the bar, alone, waiting for anyone he knew to enter the restaurant. no such luck yet. his jacket tucked in his lap, cas quickly looked at his phone to see if he had messed up the time. he had been very forgetful lately. grief will do that to you, i guess. but, no. he was just the 'old man overtly on time' trope in this moment. rapping two knuckles on the bar, he summoned the bartender to him. "scotch on the rocks, please?" voice low and gravely.
noticing a figure close to him, also finding themselves at the bar, cas opted to make some sort of small talk. can't withdraw forever, right? "a little sad to be stood up by co-workers, right?" his voice loud enough to hear, but still living comfortably in his low register. "didn't think i was that unlikeable."

Fall and halloween had always captured part of Yoona's heart ever since she was a little girl. The ghost stories, the dressing up and the child like excitement that exudes from even the most stone faced adult. It was a wonderful time of year. There was just one little issue with the whole thing, the young women hated to be scared. All of the horror movies that are usually on this time of year have always been in the 'avoid' category when anyone had ever asked, but things were different this year. Turning her head, she hadn't fully been expecting anyone to direct a question her way, but she found herself smiling regardless. "Promise not to judge?" She laughed. "I'm actually a huge baby when it comes to this kind of thing, so I really don't watch these kinds of movies too often. I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone." The excitement radiating off the other woman had the dread that once filled Yoona's body slowly melt away. "I trust you have one though. If you tell me, maybe I'll watch it later today and see what all the praise is about."
Location: before one of movies at the Sunset Drive in Status: open @aurorabaystarter
Kalina was practically buzzing with excitement about all of the fall festivities going on. The weekend movies always were some of her favorite things to do this time of year, because she lived getting scared or not scared with people she loved. So as she stretched a bit in her spot and was ready for some screams and jump scares she glanced over and felt the urge to ask one of her favorite questions “ favorite underrated final girl and why?”

It wasn't every day Yoona indulged herself in the party lifestyle, but then again Halloween only happened once a year and she had always had such a deep rooted love for the holiday so she guessed it was only right that she enjoy herself. Scary movies terrified her, so she wouldn't be staying up late at night to watch any of them, she was far too old for trick or treatjng but going to a party? That she could do. Dressing as someone for an evening, sipping on delightful cocktails while live music played as the soundtrack to the evening sure beat her usual evening routine of watching old reruns on her sofa after a poor attempt at making herself a meal.
Always having had a keene eye for for movies, Yoona had dressed as a character that prehaps wouldn't be all that memorable to anyone else other than her, but bright pink jeans cut into shorts while the rest of the pant leg rested lower on her thigh, the lilac cropped top paired with an ever so slightly longer magenta one would be enough for any Fast & Furious fan to recognise her as Suki from the franchise. Happy with her attire, she'd entered the party with an air of excitement about the evening.
Rather than heading straight to the dance floor where she'd spotted plenty of other people moving to the beat of the music, she'd opted to indulge in a little liquid courage before climbing into the lions den. She'd only just settled near the bar when she heard someone speak out to her, his voice seeming to effortlessly carry across the music, though if she had to guess, she'd play it safe by saying he must have been talking in a louder tone than he was used to. "Hi!" She called out with a smile. "I just got here, but now you mention it maybe I should try them. Do you have any recommendations?" Yoona knew Jasper, in passing if not personally. He wasn't a hard person to miss. Scanning her dark optics around the lively room, she turned to him while leaning against the bar, patiently waiting her turn. "You sure know how to throw one hell of a party. It'll be hard to top this next halloween."

— THE SEASCAPE HOTEL’S HALLOWEEN PARTY ; EVENING OF SATURDAY 26th OCTOBER
This week in particular Jasper had barely contained his excitement for the party he was hosting at the hotel: the first in three years. Sharky’s had been a blast, but now it was time for him to take the reins and throw another memorable and incredible party for the people of Aurora Bay. He'd spent almost two months meticulously planning the event, ensuring everything would be ready and perfect and that he could relax for the night.
Jasper was dressed in a 90s suit that had a fake FBI ID badge with an image of a young David Duchovny clipped to the pocket, a pair of fake glasses, and an ugly patterned tie to complete his Fox Mulder costume (he'd been a fan of 'The X Files' ever since it aired and was giddy to be dressing as his favourite character from it). He loved to see that a lot of the guests had also donned a costume, some he thought he recognised from Sharky's and some which he'd never seen before.
Jasper was near the bar when, over the loud live music, he turned to the nearest person and offered them a charming smile. "Hi there. Have you tried the Halloween themed cocktails yet? If so, you have to let me know what you think- call it a survey of sorts- and if not... well, what are you waiting for? They're two-for-one!"
