Interesting, I genuinely never picked her up as sounding anything different from "Relatively posh" voice wise, mentally I always scanned her as like, tanned but in the way that you get after you recover from sunburn. Black Tories aren't like, impossible here obviously, depending on the area they are pretty standard tbh, however they are less common than the US equivalent. This is just me going back into opinion but, I just personally think the fandom having a Prominent Black Woman Character (who is often also portrayed as queer though that is besides my point) who actively votes Against Her Community feels a bit bad for representation. Nothing against personal headcanons but that being the collectively agreed upon design feels odd.

Given Helen is actively described as a Tory (British Conservative), why is her agreed upon fanon design still dark skinned? And why after the whole tory thing was common knowledge, was she still portrayed in that design?

I get "before we knew anything about Helen it was just generally agreed upon", but I'm surprised it wasn't changed more drastically afterwards.

This question has probably been asked a lot but I'm genuinely curious as someone looking at this from a political perspective.
