my favourite storytelling medium is video games, because as a kid when i was exploring all mediums i had determined player input notwithstanding that video games tell the most interesting stories to me. and i still think that for a combination of factors, but what i point to when someone asks me to explain why video games are the medium i prefer the most i really do think you have to look at arcane.

arcane doesnt come from amazing source material, actually the source material is a bit shit, but simply in adapting the ideas and concepts held within league of legends into a different medium you get what many people consider the best damn tv show in the last 5 years. it's not about the medium of video games specifically or even that its an animated show, it's that progressive storytellers that are breaking boundaries are opting to use video games to do it because video games can be anything.

not going to lie, estellise sidos heurassein being one of the only fictional characters that has analyzing fiction as a (special) interest, and the game never being mean about that, is not even the main reason i connect with her but it is an undeniable part of how we are connected. which is crazy!!, the game that gave me a special interest in analyzing works of fiction has a girl whos special interest is analyzing works of fiction. who is like me in every way, who ends up becoming a writer.

the answer wouldve been a bit bullshit but i wouldve told you it was correct and to my perception it was.

hi. no wonder this game isnt fucking popular. they made a niche politics game and then added absurdly specific historical references and then asked you to comprehend its full narrative

i will eventually get to talking about tales of vesperia publicly in the form of a grander narrative because i feel like even above most of my interests tov is the thing thats most likely to go completely over your head. do YOU know about the fact estelle makes a suggestive joke to yuri in heliord thats based on a historical reference? no. you dont. because if i didnt play this video game with a guy whos special interest is knights i wouldnt know that either. this game is written to be the nichest thing on the fucking planet i have no idea why it exists at all
