Hello, everyone! 👋
It’s been a while since I made a post on this account. My life has been very busy as of late, and I’ve been working on a personal project most of these days. This blog isn’t dead; it’s just a bit less active than usual.
I want to talk about something I won last night. I was browsing Yahoo Japan Auctions yesterday afternoon, and I came across a plush I’d never seen before. It was a Hyotantsugi, which looked old and handmade.
My interest was already peaked, but then I saw the second picture of the listing.
There’s always a possibility that the signature shown was fake. Unfortunately, that’s just how it is with dead artists. However, for some reason, the seller didn’t mention a signature in the listing title. They listed it as “Osamu Tezuka Hyotantsugi plush.”
They did mention in the description that they got it from an ex Mushi Pro employee. I was really curious now. To my shock, the listing had no watchers and very little views. The seller was only starting it off at 5,000 yen. (33$ USD)
Even if the signature wasn’t legit, I was still interested in the plush at that price, especially if it’s handmade. I told one of my friends about this, and he came back with something insane that he found.
This is technically an official plush, but it was only available to purchase for two days at a comic convention in Tokyo between August 6th and 8th of 1981. I do think they’re handmade, and they were probably only made in limited quantities. Osamu Tezuka was at the event, and if you bought one, he’d sign it for you. Not only would he sign the guitar on the back, but he would doodle on the face! We only found one other picture of this Hyotantsugi plush, but they seem to all have unique faces.
I’m now 99% sure that this signature is authentic with the information I have now. I won this priceless piece of history for only 33$ USD because the seller listed it incorrectly. I’ll post more pictures once it arrives, but it’ll likely be about two weeks before I receive it.

A gift for myself, I always wanted an animated wallpaper. I decided to take a break from the Phantom of the Opera and chose another emo, goth, depressed but very talented man, who has a mark on his face, people don't trust him because he's weird but he just wants to be loved. So no better choice than Black Jack and Kiriko, his rival, who's another emo, goth, depressed but very talented man, who has a mark on his face, people don't...
