« For a long time I believed that it would be impossible to make a book out of these experiences; I could see no shape in them, no pleasing curve [...]. Yet I was loath to let the whole thing go unrecorded. Was it for this that I had gone footsore, cold, hot, wet, hungry? climbed up, and scrambled down? covered all those miles? looked at all those goats? Surely not. [...] The book was always in my mind, teasing at me, and little by little, as time receded, it began to take shape, a meaning began to rise up out of the welter, a few definite conclusions which really had some bearing on half-formulated ideas [...].
[I]t is necessary to write, if the days are not to slip emptily by. How else, indeed, to clap the net over the butterfly of the moment? for the moment passes, it is forgotten; the mood is gone; life itself is gone. That is where the writer scores over his fellows: he catches the changes of his mind on the hop. Growth is exciting; growth is dynamic and alarming. Growth of the soul, growth of the mind; how the observation of last year seems childish, superficial; how this year,—even this week,—even with this new phrase,—it seems to us that we have grown to a new maturity. It may be a fallacious persuasion, but at least it is stimulating, and so long as it persists, one does not stagnate. »
— Vita Sackville-West, Twelve Days in Persia (1928)

my cat watches me sleep with one eye open. 👁️ I bet Rio did the same with Viktor.
So yeah, my mind is still Arcane brain rot.

Okay given that LoL waveriders are inspired by axolotls and Ixtal is based on indigenous people from Mexico and Central America, what if Rio is from Ixtal? This could also give further proof that Rio is actually a void creature since Ixtal is so close to the Void AND support the theory that shimmer has Void origins.

Given that the word Talis has Arabic origins, metalworking started in Southwest Asia (backed by archaeological evidence), and the LoL nation of Shurima is based off of the irl SWANA and West Africa regions, I can see Jayce’s father having been Shuriman or of Shuriman descent. This could also give some reason as to why Jayce knew how to navigate the Shuriman desert to look for hex crystals (a seen in his journal entries found in the Council Archives).
There's also the fact that K'Sante, a LoL character from Shurima released in 2022, has in-game voice lines to Jayce although there is no reason in the lore for them to interact. Perhaps Riot is already planning to incorporate Jayce into Shurima, especially considering K'Sante was released after Arcane Season 1 came out. The voice line also lines up more with Jayce's characterization in Arcane rather than Jayce in-game, more reason to think that canon Jayce will line up closer to Arcane and connect to Shurima somehow.
(You can check out the audio/visual of K'sante in-game here)
