Hunting Girl - Jethro Tull

I’ve been listening to this insane and amazing band for years now, and I recently bought one of their records, so I started exploring more of their songs. This one is absolute fire, and so are most of their stuff! So different from the music you are used to. Their lyrics are something else as well:

Arcade Fire - We Used To Wait

Arcade Fire - a band that has more band members than your local church choir, but it’s an advantage, definitely. So magical! Pretty much all of their songs are different and unique, and hold very interesting atmospheres and powerful messages. I love them so much, some of my favorite songs besides this one include: Wake up, Signs of Life, Deep Blue, Everything Now, Afterlife and We exist. The last one holds a powerful message about a controversial thematic, watch the video (ft. Andrew Garfield) by clicking on the title.

Led Zeppelin - What Is And What Should Never Be

I’m just obsessed with Led Zeppelin, and I’ve been listening to their music all day every day. It’s everything I love about music combined in one band. Can’t compete with the legends. Iron Maiden - The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

This song is 14 minutes of perfection. I was listening to it today after a while and I was just blown away by the power of Iron Maiden. It’s also a story, and it goes on for a long enough time for you to enjoy it to the fullest. It’s about a mariner who kills an albatross, “the bird of good omen“ and it curses him and he is left out at the sea to die from thirst, but the story has a strange turn. Very intelligent lyric writing. This entire album, Powerslave, is one of my favorite albums by this band and this is the best song on it, for sure. I’m going to the Iron Maiden concert in July and I’m beyond excited, it’s going to be unforgettable!

Bob Dylan - Making A Liar Out Of Me

My favorite person in this world. A Nobel price winner, a poet, lyricist, musician, philosopher, singer. All of his lyrics are stories. Actual stories, inspired by his wild life style and free spirit. If you want a guide in your life, this is it. Every time I listen to his songs I think of the movie “I’m not there” and that scene where one of his alter egos is running away from home and traveling via train into the unknown, carrying only his precious guitar. Can’t beat that, it’s everything his music is supposed to be. No matter where life takes you, Bob Dylan has a song about it. Even though I decided to post this song, I love so many of them, and Don’t Think Twice, It’s All right is my favorite, you can listen to it here.

SOKO - No More Home, No More Love

I’m in love with her songs.I love her aesthetics and her style so much, I’m obsessed. Every song of hers has such deep meanings.  You know, the kind of  songs that make you remember and miss your 8th grade crush on a Wednesday night. Beautiful and sad.

I know David Bowie is a legend and probably a religion by now, but I still have to write about him. His death back in 2016 still feels like yesterday to me and I clearly remember I cried that day. Truly my favorite artist, performer, songwriter and a fashion icon ever. Words can not describe how much I admire him, his personality and his songs. He will forever live through his songs and for sure never be forgotten. He was always breaking the rules and expressing himself no matter what people said, like a true artist. He wanted to shock people and he succeeded at that, bringing up the controversies like gender identity and sexual orientation when they were still a taboo. He has better songs than this one, but I choose it because of it’s powerful meaning  and an interesting picture of Bowie, clearly daring to make a statement through wearing makeup and looking feminine.

One of my favorite indie songs. This song helped me with more anxiety attacks than any other method I tried. Elliott repeats the sentence ‘’Everything’s okay’’ so many times it has a hypnotic effect, but it’s not repetitive. The melody is beautiful and the lyrics are so calming it has power to affect your mood. Calms you down but doesn’t make you sad, very impressive. I had to post a big part of the lyrics because they are true poetry.

This song is perfect for when I’m feeling completely down and need something to give me strength to keep going. This song was played at the ending of the movie Velvet Goldmine, which I’ve seen twice and the most memorable song from it’s entire soundtrack was exactly this one. I’ll never stop listening to it.

This genius band never fails at making fun melodies that make you want to dance. This is not one of these. This is a love song, but is also so much more. It's an emotion transferred into the music. This is one of those songs that would make you feel things even if you can't understand the lyrics. But oh boy, when you read them! Just flawless. The song was crowned with this beautiful fan made video from the movie The Royal Tenenbaums.
