if I have a tiny piece of advice for people who struggle with backgrounds like myself, it is that giving texture to surfaces has helped me make BGs less empty

I know this doesn't exactly apply to all art styles, but using lines and colors to imply the texture of an object will make things look "fuller" rather than just giving it shading
