hi girl so like few days ago i was stressed so your girl dad!senku post came to mind, then i got this urge to draw how senku's daughter would look like 🙏🙏 also i like to imagine senku crying like tears and all when he saw his daughter for the first time, after s/o gave birth and he doesnt even realize it im just so soft for him ohhh 💔💔💔💔💔

I’ll pull your heartstrings a step further.

During his time as a dad, nothing he plans for and prepares for goes as planned. He tries his best to calculate and predict to keep unpredictability out of the question and be one step ahead. He knows exactly when his S/O is supposed to go into labor. But then it happens unexpectedly, off schedule. He has to deliver his baby girl himself while he waits for help since it’s safer to not move his S/O.

By the time the ambulance or medics get to them he’s already done it. He grabbed the closest thing he could to wrap her in which is his lab coat. It’s not what he wanted to but he had to because he was admittedly scared to leave his S/O’s side. He just sits there staring at the crying little bloody thing wrapped in coat and that’s when the it dawns on him what just happened and he’s stunned for a moment, tears welling up in his eyes. But he quickly gets himself together to help his S/O.

When they’ve been too the hospital and back or even while in the hospital, he holds his little girl while S/O rests. He doesn’t want to let anyone else, not even the nurses. The entire experience was a bit traumatizing for both parents. He put on a brave face for his S/O but when they fell asleep he shed a few more tears recounting the day’s events.

When they get her home, she seems to always want to grab onto his lab coat, when she starts crawling they find her in random places sleeping while holding onto the lab coat she pulled off the couch. When she starts walking, she’s able to pull them out of the closet. And every time he sees his little girl with a lab coat it reminds him of that day and it fills him with a deep feeling of parental pride and love for his little family. And yes, a few more tears fall each time.

I love that senku is just an autistic wet noodle, with hair that looks like a (hot?)leek. And he's basically started a cult where everyone who joins ends up being gay for science because all he wants to do is get excited by his special interest and info dump on anyone who will listen. Everyone after being won over by science: "This, is the power of SCIENCE!" or "it's not sorcery, ITS SCIENCE!" or "we will defeat you, WITH THE POWER OF SCIENCE!" or "we can do this, WITH SCIENCE!" Or "join the kingdom OF SCIENCE". Like what a delightful dude, just turning everyone into gay science users.

Might as well ask you what you find very interesting about Senkuu as a character and as a character to write xReaders about, specifically... 👀

I'm very curious, personally i find him as a MC very refreshing hence my attachment to him, but idk, kinda-sorta wanna know ur thoughts 👀🎤

Oh man I could talk about this all day 💔 you are absolutely spot-on, because he really is a refreshing character!

I feel so cringe admitting this out loud but Senku's character is just very in line with what I find ideal in people! For one, I absolutely ADORE people who are very into their passions. Senku's always talking about science, remembering things from long ago simply because he genuinely enjoys learning new things, building amazing projects and utilizing his knowledge for good! It's so admirable when someone can easily dedicate hours and years of their life into doing what makes them happy. Not to mention... who doesn't love a smart man? 😩

Another thing is he's not sappy, nor is he overly romantic/affectionate. It's more of a preference thing, but I find it refreshing that he doesn't wax poetic about his feelings or go off on a tangent about how he loves you or cares for you or that he would die for you—no he would reinvent something that would specifically be convenient to you from SCRATCH and ?!?!? HE IS AN ACTS OF SERVICE/GIFT GIVING MAN I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL YOU CAN PRY THIS OVER MY DEAD BODY

Like hypothetically if I get a gut feeling he's about to propose I am NOT worrying he's going to be kneeling in front of a busy crowd in Disneyland I feel like he would save ourselves the gasps and stares and claps and all the congratulating people do in public proposals. I will be at ease knowing he'd most likely make me a little puzzle box I'd take forever to solve, and when i DO I'd be met with a ring he probably grew in a lab HIMSELF

To not make this long and embarrass myself further I'd like to end this with the fact that he's not the shy nerd character archetype and THANK. GOD

Yes in hindsight making someone intelligent and confident can come across as being cocky/arrogant, and I get why characters like that are harder to find compared to other intelligent character variants. But HEEEE he just makes it work i think he's magical 💓 it's the Holy Trifecta of Kindness, Intelligence, and Confidence

What I find so great about your writing is that you put a lot of care and detail to write in Senku's perspective (honestly? that's challenging in of itself), and I much enjoy the voice you give him, it's very, well— so Senku. My guess is that maybe you find points in Senkuu that you're able to relate to yourself and go from there?? I'm no writer, so I'm just wondering what goes on when one writes in the head of a complicated nuanced character. I'm sure it's hard to not repeat yourself when you have to consistently write multiple scenes of them reacting to duff scenarios @_@

Senku's character is such a breath of fresh air in my life! My social life is very dull, for the lack of a better word (I have good people in my life, but none of them share an interest for writing), and for a long time, my brain's just kind of in a stagnant state. I craved for stimulation, and rewatching Dr. STONE did just that.

Actually I've always said that me writing Senku/Reader fics were inevitable, because I first watched DCST in 2023, and I tried SO hard to be nonchalant about Senku 😭 but lo and behold, he came back with a brick to my head and I'm not complaining. The hyperfixation plus him as a genuinely dynamic character makes it tempting to give his character justice! I also think of it as my way of appreciating Inagaki and Boichi for creating him. After all, it only makes sense to treat a person's creation with care. ❤️

Of course, the desire to write him as best as I can comes with the decision to relearn and practice writing skills and techniques. I was told that one of the best ways to show character is to have them be seen from another's perspective! When I'm unsure how it works or if I can't get a feel for things, I usually take my favorite books, read a few pages, and then study what they did to execute it.

Your guess is actually pretty spot on, a lot of people say Senku's an INTP, while I'm an ISTP 😋 I think of what we might most likely have in common (i.e. a seveeeere aversion to physical or verbal affection) and take a few creative liberties to expand on his nature that hardly gets explored in canon material. It is a bit intimidating, keeping up a certain level of understanding and skill in fleshing out his character, especially in longfics. I think I still have to work on that—which means more studying!

one step, two steps

Senku

When mister science guy and you finally put the ‘exclusive’ label on your relationship, beyond scientist and part-time assistant, not much changes at first. Respectable distances in public, edging ever closer in private. Yes, you guys are official, but Senku has never been a sentimental guy, much less a boyfriend. Shock.

A few weeks in, he finds himself spending less time in the lab than he usually does. He still does his experiments, no doubt about it, however, he favours the outdoors setting. There are more confounding variables like temperature or humidity (the Stone World has yet to develop the needed mechanisms) but it’s more natural, and means more data on how things will play out in actuality. That’s why he conducts his experiments outside, near your hut, near your spot at the river, or close by the little patch of forest you like to frequent. Senku doesn’t do this for the comfort of your presence, no. It’s for science. The rational hard world of science. Totally.

Senku gets casual with his touches now. Never full on PDA, he prefers to keep kisses between the two of you. Maybe peck here and there (cheeks, jaw, temple). Slight brushes of his knuckles linger when you pass him things. He ruffles your hair like it’s second nature, not that he didn’t do that before, he does it so liberally like his fingers belong tangled in your hair.

He enjoys holding your hands, and with that Senku gains a habit of putting his hand over yours. You’re stirring something and not doing it effectively? He’ll come up behind you with a little tut and place his warm hand over yours to demonstrate how it’s done. He’s close and purposeful. He’ll look over your shoulder and tuck his arms under yours in some sort of back hug, warmth lingering. He does it even if you’re not doing anything that ineffective.

Gen

Relationship is official, plans are going more or less smoothly and the sun is shining in the Stone World. However, Gen is weirdly guarded at the beginning of your relationship. Yes, he acts normal (same smile, same witty comments), but you can see that there’s something turning the gears in his head. He’s sly and cheeky, not infallible.

He dodges your touches, almost imperceptibly. Sitting beside you by the fire, he’ll angle himself facing you. It looks like he’s close, but he’s never close enough. Not in the way you want him to be. He’ll grab the things you pass him with a well-placed breath to disguise the way he avoids the tips of your fingers. You become more accustomed to the slight wrinkly texture of his overcoat than his own hands. Needless to say, you grow restless with concern.

When you finally manage to sit the man down and wrench a non-flowery explanation from him, he talks about not wanting to come off as too clingy (frankly impossible), and talks about feeling as if he tricked you into liking him due to always putting on the ‘mentalist’ act. After that, you start to understand a little more.

With much reassurance and communication, your relationship blossoms and Gen becomes cheekier and smugger than ever. If he didn’t flirt with you before, he would definitely flirt with you now with gusto, cheesy but tasteful. He’s always in the mood of making you blush or flustered.

He loves to kiss you when you least expect it (when you’re in the middle of talking or doing a task that requires concentration). He knows the effect he has on you and intends to use that power any which way he can. Gen enjoys PDA and doesn’t mind the openness. He revels in the fact that you are his and he is so utterly and completely yours.
