Handmade Beautiful
I've always admired the people who do handmade stuff for their kids' parties. All the photos you see in the magazines and Martha Stewarts crafting blog is just eye candy. I've always liked making things with my hands like sewing, felt crafts, and drawing (although I have no talent with that) and now that I have a chance to work on my own kids party just got me all excited.
It was a challenge to combine a birthday celebration of a girl and a boy plus a child dedication so it took a lot of research to come up with a theme that would marry all three celebration. Oh have I mentioned that we're also including hubby's birthday celebration?
Here's just an idea what my kid likes (and I'm just talking about my boy)

So true. Thank God for all the things he gives you. Big or small. Good or bad.

Passion
I got all fired today when my hubby talked to me about passion. My hubby is passionate about basketball and sneakers or kicks! I told him that I wish I was passionate about something too. So, he talked to me about taking my love for pens to the next level.
I know pens are geeky but eversince I was a child I loved collecting ballpens. National bookstore was and still is my favorite place. I could stay in the pen section long enough to make my toddler so bored.
Blame the busyness of being a work-at-home mom to two adorable kids with no helper and no yaya. My occupation leaves me exhausted at the end of the day thus my personal life, hobbies included have taken a back seat. Plus, fountain pens are very expensive that somehow I cannot plop down the money to buy one when I can use that money on something more practical but I think it's about time I indulge myself on a little hobby.
Now, with the blessing and encouragement of my hubby I will purchase my first fountain pen this weekend. I'm now reading about the different kinds of fountain pens available and horror of horrors, I am drawn to the vintage (read: more expensive) pens! I now want to visit antique shops and scour ebay but I am getting ahead of myself. Must start with the basic first!
I'm still choosing and if you know me well, I will go through every store, online shops and read endlessly about pens. Eeeeee! Just writing this is making me all excited.
Thanks Honey for encouraging me to do this. You're teaching me that the busyness of life does not excuse us from enjoying the simple pleasures that God is blessing us.
