For the second time the City of Budapest presented MOME Photography MA students during Art Market Budapest in October. We organized one-day exhibitions showcasing Alumni, current projects and portfolios. As a special surprise Kirsztina Szalay won the Budapest Award for Young Talents with her diplomawork and photobook about the chinese market in Budapest.

Pierre-J锚rome Jehel, professor of Gobelins, Paris held an astonishingly inspiring one-week workshop. The course was titled Invisible and it ended in a pop-up exhibition of student projects discovering the theme through a caleidoscope of photographic approaches.

MOME Photography students took part on the kick-off meeting of BredaPhoto Festival during the last weekend of September. The event was organized in Breda (NL), highlighted by speakers Ren茅 ten Bos and Koert van Mensvoort addressing next years theme of the festival: To Infinity and Beyond. A competition between students of the eight invited universities and academies begins now to determine who will exhibit alongside the big names of the festival!

We began April by opening an exhibition following a one-week workshop examining the correlation between memory and fiction. Photographer David Favrod led MOME students to focus on their personal experiences and the possibilities of expressing the unspeakable, while in his wednesday evening lecture he offered a deeper insight into his working methods.

With her project for the BA third-year autumn assignment Zs贸fi Siv谩k wins first prize at the 35th Hungarian Press Photo Awards in the category of Daily Life series. She also received the title of the most successful photographer under the age of thirty. 'J贸zsi茅k' is an outspoken and hearthwarming series about a family in her hometown.

The intensive courseweek ends with an exhibition of the stunning results of M谩rton Perlaki's remarkably dynamic workshop. Participants reacted to several flash assignments each day to compile a circular narrative by the end of the week.

The 2017 spring semester starts with a momentum. Our guests, Anthony Marchetti and M谩rton Perlaki, two photographers from the US with hungarian connections in conversation with G谩bor Arion Kud谩sz. Mr. Marchetti introduced us to the thinking behind his ongoing project tracing back his family memories and history through a lost hungarian relative 'Paul', a series he works on as a Fulbright fellow and guest teacher at MOME. Mr. Perlaki discussed how a fashion commission and artistic ambitions meet in a book project he is just about to finalize following his successful and lovely book 'Elem茅r'.

In October 2016 students of MOME and Belfast School of Art met with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The workshop begun with a lecture by sociologist Pascal Gielen, followed by an intense week of individual and group projects, soundwalk with sound designer Csaba Hajn贸czy and student presentations.
