Happy 5 years of ModFest!

Has it been that long already? We've restored classic website data so you can find out for yourself!

Thanks to some serious legwork by the team, all ModFest event modpacks (including the previously unreleased 1.15, 1.16, FallFest, and 1.17 packs) are now completely playable out of the box, with showcase worlds included!

You can find these "Anniversary Releases" on Modrinth, with server downloads linked too.

Voting is open for the next two weeks!

(Until 11:59pm 2024-07-27 thanks tumblr mobile) - All voting is done in-game and votes can be adjusted at any time using our new modfest base mod: Ballotbox!

Just join the official server and run /vote or click the option in the pause menu - when you close the screen with Esc, you should see confirmation that your votes have been saved!

ModFest: Carnival opens in 1 DAY (22 Hours)

Join us at midnight GMT (on 2024/07/12 THANKS tumblr mobile) when curtains open on all 54 submissions and an array of funtastic minecraft mod booths.

The ModFest: Carnival showcase opens to the public in 3 days!

This weekend (Saturday GMT), we're opening up the showcase server for the newest iteration of our regular minecraft mod jam - ModFest: Carnival!

Participants had two weeks to develop a minecraft mod, and two weeks to build a showcase "booth" in-game to help show off and explain their submission to players!

Once the server opens, you can slide, ride, float, spin, jam, and otherwise check-out all 52 submissions - and vote on your favourites! Plus, you'll find collectable cards in each submission booth, awarded for visiting, sleuthing, and completing challenges - try collect them all!

The fest is officially underway! You can now start making (and submitting!) mods via the instructions on the website.

We have a frankly terrifying 120 participants penned down so far, so feel free to hide in the crowd! ModFest really isn't a competition, so that's a lot of people to get advice from if you need it, too.

Signups and submissions won't close until the actual deadline on June 24th at noon GMT - wander on over any time!

Tricks, sweet treats, fascinations, strange creatures, decorations, or maybe a bit of magic? It's all faire game! For Carnival, we're also explicitly inviting texture/model artists and experienced builders - sign on up and try join a team!

Curtains are planned to open for the public on Saturday, July 13th—the show must go on!

ModFest 1.20 returns in a shocking display of restoration magic!

While the original showcase world has been lost, through a few scraps and the tireless collaboration of the team and participants we have restored the server close to its original state.

We plan to run the showcase and hold voting until midnight pacific this Sunday, May 12. The server will stay open for a week or so after that.

The modrinth pack has been updated with the new server IP, and includes a copy of the singleplayer world if you'd prefer to tour privately.

Grab your friends and find what you missed, or head back for an encore of the participants' stellar performances!

First, download a launcher like Modrinth: https://modrinth.com/app or Prism: https://prismlauncher.org

Then set up the launcher with your minecraft account, add the pack (just search "Modfest 1.20" under modrinth modpacks in the add screen), and play!

That's right, we're on tumblr now!

ModFest is a regular jam for making minecraft mods that target a single version - then, after the jam, everyone who participated is invited to build showcases ("booths!") for their mods in a themed world.

When they're done, we invite all players to join the server to check out all the booths, as well as find collectibles, discuss the submissions with other players, play around, and vote on their favourites!
