Music Correspondences

🎵 Introduction 🎵

I find the “music witchcraft” or “music witch” community on Tumblr to be terribly small, which is rather off-putting, considering just how powerful music can be in magical practices.  Music is pure, sonic energy; it’s sounds are raw power, it’s lyrics evoke feeling, emotion, and inspiration, how could this not be a useful, and important tool in witchcraft?

In saying that, music is a very, very important, and crucial part of my personal craft.  I use it to cleanse, charge, meditate, and I even use it for ritual and spellwork.  For me, my practice is nothing without magic.  So, I decided I would share some of my uses/correspondences for some base musical genres with all of you lovely witches.  Please feel free to use any, and all of my correspondences for your own musical practice, but also don’t be afraid to create your own, personal correspondences, as that will make it’s use all the more powerful!

I am TELLING YOU if you have spent months, years, around the same trees, land, etc., they WILL recognize you and reach out to you or not mind if you reach out to them. You don’t need to know anything about them.

A tree in the forest behind my parents house I’ve never spoken to before reached out - I never would’ve expected it. I don’t know what kind of tree it is. But of course this tree knows me. This tree has known me since I was six.

Trust me. This land knows you. These plants know you. They want to speak with you.

✨ Music is Magick ✨

I remember growing up being afraid to go upstairs alone, or turn the lights off behind me if I was going downstairs, because there were spirits in the house we lived in. Whenever I would get scared, I would sing something and run to wherever I was going. It made me feel safer, and that it would ward anything unwanted off. I would also plug my headphones into my iPod at night and fall asleep to music, so I couldn’t hear the strange noises those spirits would make. 

I hadn’t discovered until recently that singing brought such high vibrations and energy around you. I am now realizing that me singing when I was afraid,  or listening to music before bed to feel safe, was a subconscious defense mechanism. 

Long story short, music is a very powerful form of magick. It has, and always will play a very important roll in my life, in more ways than I will ever be able to imagine.
