Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire, this “Gateway into Iran” was named the Shahyad Tower, meaning “Kings’ Memorial”, but was dubbed Azadi (Freedom) after the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

since October 2011, I'm starting to explore what Iran is. then I learn some farsi, knowing what Tehran (capital city of iran) look like, Persian culture, food, people. And all of this makes me starting to love Iran. what a beautiful country filled with beautiful people, interesting food. I should visit Iran someday! especially Tehran.

کسی از گربه های ایرانی خبر نداره, Kasi az gorbehaye irani khabar nadareh / No One Knows About Persian Cats
Why:
This is one of my favorite movies… let’s discover the life of young indie guys/girls in the Tehran jungle! They’re doing a great music, underground concerts + this movie is not totally fictional as the actors are just acting their everyday life ! For me iranian movies are the best, it’s not about watching a movie, it’s about feeling it.
About:
Being an artist in Iran, isn’t just about art, it’s about living, freedom, internal conflict, risk of lashes, death and torture. We should admire them, dont’t forget that playing music is forbidden (girls are not allowed), if you’re not staying in the “traditional” field.
Plot:
The film follows two young musicians (Ashkan and Negar) as they form a band and prepare to leave Iran shortly after being released from prison….
