she a spoiled white woman who grew up very wealthy and who's individual carbon footprint is larger than the entirety of some small nations.

you know who is a southern baddie? Dolly Parton.

grew up in absolute poverty in a shack with dirt floors

(TS has a rich family and spent every Xmas in NYC)

modeled her style after the town trollop, who she thought was the most beautiful woman in the world, and embraced her sexuality.

(TS retains the image of the young innocent virgin white girl despite being 35 years old and every one of her songs is about a man)

wrote a song about the stupidity of the American work system

(TS is a billionaire with two private jets)

has supported the queer community for decades even through some of its darkest times like the AIDS crisis

(TS uses the queer community like a prop)

started a scientific organization to help cure viruses like AIDS and that even helped develop the Covid vaccine

(TS made the last superbowl all about her becauses she was dating one of the players)

has run a charity since 1995 that sends millions of books to children in poverty, particularly the rural south where she grew up

(TS has done nothing for the south and its problems despite her southern belle persona)

"But she told off Trump! Thats something!"

Honey thats the absolute bare minimum.

That's telling someone 'bless you' after they sneeze.

That's holding the door open for someone in a wheelchair.

Thats waving back to a little kid when they wave at you.

It takes 0 risk and 0 effort and should not be a point of praise.

So? Woman is a billionaire with connections all over the world. She literally doesn't need them.

Bottom line: Taylor Swift remains an egotistical bourgeoisie white cunt who should be known for her pollution levels instead of her mid music.

saying ao3 needs to censor certain content is like saying a museum can't have still life art that includes strawberries because you don't like them.

these are not real strawberries. you do not have to, and in fact cannot, eat them. no one with a strawberry allergy will be harmed by looking at them. no migrant workers were exploited in the picking of these strawberries. there were no questionable farming practices or negative environmental impacts from growing or transporting them.

because - and i cannot stress this enough - they are not real strawberries.

if you don't like strawberries, you don't have to look at the paintings. in fact, you can get a map of the museum that lists what works are in what rooms and just. not go in there. if you see one by mistake, you can look away. just keep walking. there's plenty of other stuff to see.

yes, real strawberries can cause real quantifiable harm to real people.

but again. these are not real strawberries.

you may have whatever feelings you like about strawberries, and so can i. you can draw and write about whatever fruit floats your boat, and so can i, even if that happens to be strawberries. and we can hang our art side by side in the same gallery, provided you understand that my strawberries are not about you (and your kumquats are, shocker, not about me) and that - and this is true - neither are real.

and when the fascists break down the doors and grab all the strawberry paintings and heap them in the street and set them on fire, please know that they are coming for your kumquats next.

so if you want a place where you can show off your beautiful kumquat art safely, you're gonna have to tolerate having some strawberries in the next room.

and that's okay. because the strawberries aren't real.

gosh i was such a baby. i was trying so hard to be so many things that people wanted and expected me to be and even though i worked relentlessly to satisfy all of those expectations, nothing was ever truly good enough. i could never quite fully convincingly pull it off. and of course i couldn't because the whole thing was a shallow and completely false act. i worked so hard and put myself through so much and i still felt like i failed every single time. i wish i could give this person a hug. i wish i could tell them that things would get ... maybe not better, not always, but different. better in the small ways, and maybe sometimes that would be enough to count.

Most of the time I feel way younger than I actually am. When kids mistake me for being their age, like 16 or 17, it doesn’t seem weird to me. I act like a toddler sometimes. Glittery things keep me occupied for hours. My favorite film is the Spongebob Squarepants movie. I usually have more fun hanging with the 5 year old I babysit than my stupid drama-llama friends.

But then I have these moments where I feel about 200 years old. Like just now. Reading stupid entries people make about stupid scene drama, or ridiculous internet shit. How can people be so ….. immature?

Maybe I’m not childish, so much as just satisfied with the simple things.

this is a text entry i wrote here on tumblr SIXTEEN years ago. 1 6. one six. a decade and a half ago. and it's especially poignant because after the experience i touch upon in this post r.e antidepressants i hadn't taken any in the years since, until i decided to try again this year. maybe literally everything is cyclical. maybe i'm doomed to just keep repeating the same mistakes.

I had to go to the doctor earlier, because it’s been like 6 months since my last prescription or something and I needed to assure her that I was still alive and taking my medication and that I hadn’t died 5 months and 3 weeks ago only to have a random but stealthy stranger take up my prescription and get his or her filthy corrupt fill of effexor. OR SOMETHING.

Long story short I had a mini koniption in the waiting room. There were so many people there and some of them were coughing and ohmygod maybe I have swine flu now. But I went in and it was fine and everything went normal and then she said she wanted to refer me for a psych evaluation. HOLD UP. What just happened? If you know, please let me in on the secret.

Then I went to Tesco with my mom and sister and hoodwinked my mothership into picking up a lot of unnecessary crap for me. It’s her own fault for being so easily distracted at till time, obviously.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to ponder existence as I doodle with my swanky new gel pens and nibble upon some delicious chocolate.

To infinity and whatnot.

Ps - My sister is being mean and won’t tell me the truth about this: I had a dream last night about a type of chocolate bar that was composed of milk chocolate squares with strange little almost hat-like white chocolate bits on top. Is this a real thing or am I just making stuff up again?

Your characterization will never be 100% accurate or considered as such by everyone. Characters are up for interpretation. Everyone perceives them differently. If you try to please everyone with your characterization, you’re going to end up dissatisfied and miserable. Plus people often hold contradictory interpretations of the same character. At the end of the day, it’s more fun to write your own unique interpretation that’s accurate *to you* rather than stress over being 100% accurate to a general audience. It’s an impossible standard. Put your own spin and flavor on your faves:)
