is there a name or term for the specific kind of secondhand embarrassment where when you're watching a tv show or movie and a character has broken into somewhere they can't get caught, you immediately have to fast forward to the part where they're either out of the woods or they've already been caught because it's so absolutely uncomfortable ~waiting for them to get in trouble that you can't actually bear it

#if a therapist had to experience my coworkers #they would need to immediately schedule a therapy session themselves #we've got coworker a who is as dumb as a box of rocks and not even nice enough to make that okay #we've got coworker b who is as dumb as a box of rocks but at least acknowledges that so he's my favorite #we've got coworker c who is potential intelligent but never uses that for good so it doesn't count #we've got coworker d who is as dumb as a box of rocks but sometimes sweet at least #we've got coworker e who is as dumb as a box of rocks and an actual wrecking ball in an excel sheet #and finally we've got coworker f who is as dumb as a box of super fucking dumb rocks and somehow MY MANAGER earning at least twice my wage #like i don't mean to sound like a cliche here but i'm literally the only person in my department who knows ANYTHING #and even my knowledge is quite limited #in short: i and we are doomed #and also dumb did i mention that they're all dumb and not in the cute or unharmful way #if you knew what my department was and in what organization you'd probably puke from horror #because when i say A LOT rides on the work that we do ..... it's so so so so so so so so so much more than i can be comfortable with #every single day i'm terrified #every single week at least someone in my department fucks something which has huge implications on potentially a national scale #pretty often things get fucked to such an extent that it tips over onto the international scale #but my organization is ...... my organization. and the kind of organization that operates this way within these systems #so like it's not just me and my country that's fucked #it's all of us!!!!!#globally!!!!#yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

starting today i'm out of work for two weeks because my sore tummy issues are so bad that i'm actually worse than anaemic and while i'm probably depressed because of the anaemia i'm also to my mind at least partially deeply unhappy because i haven't done enough creative media work so far this year.

so since all my best friends are on this social media pond in particular i humbly open my inbox to you. if there's been something you've ever found yourself wishing i had watched enough that i got fannish about it, or if there's a ship or dynamic from fandoms past that you ever had a passing thought to wanting to read from me, please let me know.

i've got a lot of time to fill and i can't exactly go out and do things due to the low blood pressure issues and whatnot, so please feel completely free to give me any suggestions you may have. i would very much appreciate it.

i was extremely confused by the second tweet, because i was like " ............ those are the same thing," but i guess for a lot of people, their critique of someone's work doesn't come from a desire to improve the piece technically in order to make sure that the writer's intentions and wishes are achieved as best they possibly can be. that sucks, honestly. if anyone is working as an editor with any other kind of motivation, they really should not be in this field.
