Did you know it took over 30 years for Mobile yo resume official 4th of July celebrations after the Civil War? Mobile was one of the last major cities in the country to do so. Seems it took another war, the Spanish-American War of 1898, to galvanize the patriotic spirit of “Lost Cause” leaders here at home.
