This is an abandoned building located in downtown Plano, TX. I came across this area looking for interesting backgrounds to take pics of for a photo project and this became an interest to me. I couldn’t figure out what is used to be but I really enjoyed the colors and the aesthetic of the building. Doing this photo series makes me want to expand outside of the DFW and into other cities as well, making me become a travel photographer. So far, I’ve enjoyed this series but I want to continue to explore!

I’m really enjoying my photo series thus far. I went to the Arts in Bloom festival in Downtown Mckinney and got the pleasure of taking photos of these wonderful people. I love shooting street photography and events that go on around the DFW metroplex. To complete my series, I think I will continue traveling and see what I can find that interests me.

The Video
What genre is the video? Comedy Was the camera moving around the scenes or was it stationary? Was this effective? Stationary and yes Is there a clear idea/point/message/concept? What is it? Does it come through clearly? How? To ask men how much they know about menstrual periods. It does come through clearly by interviewing them and giving each man props to view. Did you loose interest in the video at any point in time? Where and why? No, I thought it was very entertaining. What are the strengths and weakness of the video? Strengths were that it was entertaining, funny, connects with audience and weaknesses are there could have been more men being interviewed. Does the audio contribute to the experience? How? Yes by playing fun music in the background to match the situation.

Going along with the strange weather in Texas, not only were there tornadoes hitting only a little north of us in Oklahoma but we were having very strange lightning shows going on in Denton on repeat. This is the view from my apartment balcony, even though lightning can be pretty terrifying, I find it awkwardly beautiful.

When I got lost coming back to Denton from Highland Village, I made a U-turn at an interesting entrance to a ranch and I saw this tractor. I thought it was really random but in reality I was the one that was random, and it was at home.

I decided to go in a different direction for my blog. As much as I enjoy weddings and I will continue to shoot them, it is not the only thing that I am interested in. With a lot of deep thought I wanted to think of the things that really interest me as a photographer. The thing that I do have trouble with is finding the time to shoot with my busy schedule and I want to get out and shoot everything that I can find that is unique and unusual. I will go to areas I've never been, talk to strangers and just photograph. On this particular day, living in Texas, we have the most random weather and we got the pleasure of receiving an ice storm! Trapped in my house, too dangerous to drive I decided to walk around my neighborhood and document the annual ice storm that we always seem to get. Luckily school was out that day, giving me lots of free time to spare.

02/03/15 Cake, Cake, Cake
So far, finding things to photograph that connects to weddings hasn't been difficult but I want to come up with more creative ways to shoot still life objects in the space I'm given. I went to Candy Haven in Denton,Tx to photograph this Damask cake, a very popular style choice picked by many brides. I will continue to explore my search on shooting wedding items.

01/28/15 I love my Bouquet.
Making a decision on the flower arrangements for a woman's wedding can be crucial. She has to find the flowers that'll leave her guests in awe, captured by the extreme beauty and breathtaking ora of the space. of There are so many beautiful choices out there and it can be difficult to narrow it down. However, a few popular flowers used for weddings and for the bridal bouquet are; gerbera daises, lilies, hydrangeas, roses and tulips. Photo taken at: Holly's Garden and Florist
