...I have logged into this game twice since I stopped playing a little over 4yrs ago, but always told myself I would regret it if I did not play the expansions through at least the original story set out in ARR. All of my friends have moved on, there are 2 remaining not-particularly active members of my once 70-80 member FC (though miraculously the house I worked so many nights gathering, crafting, and selling to get is still standing), and yet I could not help it - took me two tries to get through the Lightwarden duty at the beginning of SHB because I all but forgot the rotations and mechanics, but here we are, and yup. Pretty well hooked again.

I got bored with BDO again for a spell so reinstalled GW2 and started over since has been forever since I played it. I made a Norn ranger, a towering red-haired angry lass that I named... oh, come on - what else am I going to name her?

Brigid Banner rides again.

I had never played the spirits storyline, so I've chosen that one. I think it is the 2nd or 3rd instance where you fight the Sons in the cave, but holy hell does the dialogue make me laugh, I cracked up for a good 10mins afterwards -

Son of Svanir: 'The next time we meet, it shall be at the end of a sword'

Brigid: 'And I'll take it from you and stick it in your throat'

I've mained Guardian since its release 2yrs ago, and since have put an absurd amount of time and energy into enhancing the gear and farming points for her skill tree. Two hours into playing Drakania and I can't believe how good of a fit this new class is for me. We'll have to see once awakening comes around, but folks? I might be all-in on this one.

the unbelievable wealth of game knowledge I have gleaned from forums is invaluable

discord is perfectly fine for what it is but next time you get some weird ass error on one of your electronic devices and you Google it and the exact answer to your problem is found in an 8 year old post in the OT thread of a random ass 4K strategy game forum you never heard of then you’ll begin to understand why it’s such a problem that message boards are dying
