Now, let's talk Moonwood Mill! I've already shared most of these, but I wanted to make an adjusted map to match Henford-on-Bagley's and introduce each lot in more detail. I'll never stop ragging on EA for how small this and most of the occult worlds are. There's seriously not much you can do with five lots, and I did my best to place the additional lots logically, imagining the space shown on the map is actually much bigger than the one we got. I even badly Photoshopped the Granite Falls waterfall in at the top, so I really hope my plan to use it as an extension works out!

Moonwood Reservation (by SakuraLeon)

This is where most of the established Wildfangs live, namely Rory, Lou, Lux, and honorary member Celene. By this point, Lux has proven herself enough to "graduate" her trial period and be fully integrated. Bianca and Kiril stay here sometimes but get kicked out by Rory more often than not because she can't stand their asses even if they're useful to her. My favorite detail is the truck with that vandalized portrait of Vlad chilling in the back, lmao! The last time we saw that was in the '40s with the Vatores, so I like to imagine it was liberated by the Wildfangs, out to prove they're the biggest Straud haters of all.

Grimtooth Bar & Bunker (by Sahjiita)

Celene's bar, of course! There are raging bonfire parties here nearly every weekend, and she can make a pretty penny off drunk werewolves who want to howl at the moon all night long. It sits next to an abandoned factory, which has been converted into a sort of training grounds for new recruits. There are a bunch of bunkbeds and sleeping bags in a single cramped room, and they're expected to improve their fitness, agility, and hunting prowess until they've either proven their worth or shown themselves as too weak or cowardly.

Collective Compound (Werewolf Compound by nengster65)

This is where most of the Collective lives. Kristopher is much more organized and regimented in his approach to pack life (one of Rory's many beefs with him), so everyone has their assigned roles and are expected to perform certain responsibilities to keep the compound running smoothly. Some might call it a cult (Rory). But others are truly appreciative of the tight-knit sense of community he's cultivated and usually end up working for the compound in some way, giving their children a compound education, etc. But there are occasional voices of dissent, and Kristopher doesn't always respond to them in the most effective way.

Lily's Sanctuary (Microhome Forest Garden by SimsbySandrasj)

This is Lily Zhu's own private home and garden, within spitting distance of the compound but secluded enough to give her a sense of privacy and independence when she needs it. She still spends a lot of time at the compound proper, offering support to newly transformed werewolves and helping out wherever else she's needed. She's been at Kristopher's side for a very long time but is also sympathetic to Rory's disgruntlement with him, so she still sees Rory occasionally even if Kristopher disapproves.

Squatter's Cabin (Abandoned Cabin by alicaud)

A cabin that's been abandoned so long no one actually knows who the true owner is anymore. Until someone lays claim to it, it's used by various squatters, particularly drifters who are only passing through for a day or two, including werewolves who don't yet feel particularly aligned to a certain pack and are going it alone. You're guaranteed to see someone new peering distrustfully out the boarded-up windows every time you pass by.

The Old Lumber Mill (Scierie de Moonwood Mill by E-aplouf)

Exactly what it says on the tin. Another reminder of the decline of Moonwood Mill's past industrial glories. It's used now as a sort of makeshift youth center. Since the town doesn't have the funds to establish any proper recreation services and most residents don't have the funds to go out of town to have fun, they get creative with the spaces they do have.

Moonwood Mill Library (by Sahjiita)

A formerly condemned building that Wolfgang Wilder saved from demolition and is attempting to establish as a more traditional center of learning for Moonwood Mill's youth. He's been gathering and preserving werewolf history for the past several years, and the compound children often have classes there.

Grubby's Food Truck (Moonwood Mill Food Truck by ralucii)

Who's Grubby? No one knows! But the food's so good the face behind it hardly matters. This traveling food truck sets up shop in Moonwood Mill every couple of months, and everyone always rushes to grab a bite there considering there aren't many other options for dining out.

The Loft (by SakuraLeon)

A community DIY space for concerts and raves created out of another abandoned factory. It's grimy and sweltering on a good night, but it's become the talk of the town after serving as the early proving grounds for a couple punk bands who have gone on to make a minor name for themselves. Now, every garage band is clamoring to grace its stage.

The Junkyard (Construction Junkyard by 00chuchu00)

It's a junkyard. Owned by Marcel Woonmalker (I admire the stupidity of that last name). He's recently gotten it into his head to transform it into Moonwood Mill's hottest new spot by establishing a makeshift bar. He thinks it's about time Celene had some real competition. Unfortunately, it's not a very attractive location, and the permeating stench makes it a hard sell for Moonwood residents.

Crimson & Clover’s Retreat (by beetlemp3)

A yoga and meditation center run by a group of Collective members. I imagine the Collective being more hippie-like and very drawn to things like spirituality and mindfulness. They see it as their "secret weapon" that allows them to tame their aggression in ways the Wildfangs cannot. It's been so successful, in fact, that they've drawn in other non-werewolf regulars who appreciate the peaceful vibes.

Hermit's Hut (Hermit Hut by Jazmilia)

Who is the Hermit? Well, I'm afraid that's a top-level secret that only a few very select people in Moonwood Mill are privy to - and for now, it's a secret they're keeping! I'll just say it's a different take than the game has. (It's not Greg. Greg is still in his usual place.) This lot is literally the most popular result when you search "hermit" on the gallery, but it's for good reason.

Now that I'm satisfied with these two worlds, I think I'll work on some HZID-related things - for real. Not the story proper quite yet, but I've had an idea that's been gnawing at my brain for the past several days that I need to attempt. My next step for this save will be making over townies! I also need to brainstorm on Innisgreen. I know I want at least one household to live there, but I'm not sure how big of a role I want it to have otherwise.

erm. so my game has been broken for the past week because i tried to enter my gameplay era yet again and failed miserably, so i attempted to troubleshoot and ended up accidentally deleting majority of my mods folder!

i probably won't be touching this game for awhile. which means: no posts. i was already heavily losing interest, but this just took the cake for me. unfortunate as fuck, i know but shit happens.

i still have folders leftover from august of 24' but i never even got to the "figuring out what was wrong with my game" part of this, so quite frankly i don't have any interest to.

Not to be extra but for some reason simstrouble and their cc finds blog won’t show up on my tumblr and I guess the reason must be that they blocked me?? Right?

I can’t see any other reason why since I can access outside of the app?

I’m heartbroken if so, nobody needs a reason to block but I’ve been supporting them for years. They’re literally the only person I patronize on Patreon. 🫠 and I’ve also never interacted with them??

ETA: I have no way to prove this but the only thing I can think of is that I posted some of their interiors, with credit, in a ts4 wcif community. Nothing but complimentary and I mentioned I had combed their cc finds blog and had no success finding the items I was after. That post is now inexplicably gone from the community as well. So the best I can determine is it was “fuck you specifically for asking the community wcifs”. Beyond that I’m bewildered and have removed my financial pledge to their Patreon. 🤷‍♀️

After my last post about TS4 ReShade issues, I want to say that so far this isn’t affecting everyone, and we still aren’t 100% certain that we’re right about the cause.

There are some people who have fully updated games, and the latest 6019 EA App version, for whom everything is working fine. We don’t know yet if a silent app update will come and break it for them, or if there is in fact something else going on.

We have to hope this will remain isolated. It’s early days, nothing is certain at the moment. I’d hate for everyone to panic before they need to.

For the moment, if you’re able to still use ReShade, then please do. Enjoy your game, try not to worry about it. I’m sure we will have a clearer picture over the coming days and weeks.

And if we are correct and this is because of some kind of anti-cheat, it could be possible for EA to add ReShade to the whitelist. That would, however, require them knowing about the problem in the first place and being concerned enough about the backlash that they feel moved to act.

Did Your G/Reshade Disappear?

If you’re like me, you went into a panic as GShade completely went away without doing a thing (knowingly). Well don’t worry. We have a resolution!

The Sims/EA updated the EA app and in doing so, it caused the code to delete a file that is used by our favorite overlay/beautiful program.

WHAT TO DO /

You need to check your version of the EA app by going to the top left and clicking "About" and make sure you are running version 13.501.1.6009 the one ending in 6019 is the culprit. Now, if you have 6019, go to EA's website here / https://www.ea.com/ea-app / and download the EA App and click "repair" that will push your application to the 6009 version. Now, go to your GShade control panel, go to installs then add and then "install" it to your game again. So, find it in your Bin, TS4_x64.exe and do your appropriate shaders (if you're on dx9 or 11) and then save. Your game should work appropriately along with GShade once again.

It’s been stated that it might show up one time then go away a second time, if that’s the case simply repeat the steps until it works because over time, it will. If you’re still having issues I highly recommend visiting the GShade discord and they can help you much more in depth!
