Major League Eating Returns to Trenton, New Jersey for the Case’s Pork Roll (or Taylor Ham) championship on September 24th. Major League Eating is the premier and only league for the sport of competitive eating, a sport which has eaters eat the most amount of food in the shortest or given time, and will make its way back to The Garden State for this event. The contest will be the highlight of an event known as riverfest, an annual event held at Trenton Thunder Ballpark each year focused on connecting the community through a day of fun family events.

The festival is capped with the Major League Eating Pork Roll Championship where fans get to watch competitors eat as many Case’s Famous Pork Roll Sandwiches that they can in 10 minutes. In last year's event the great Joey Chestnut shined bright eating 45 Case's Pork Roll Sandwiches in 10 minutes. Competitive Eater and world number four eater Nick Whery finished in second with 41 Pork Roll Sandwiches. Riccardo Corbucci rounded off the top three placing in third with 36 Pork Roll Sandwiches.

We spoke with second place finisher Nick Whery on the Case's Pork Roll eating championship he said that “I'm ready to go in to win” giving previous champion Joey Chestnut a fair warning that it won't be an easy contest. Chestnut however is no rookie to this event and currently holds the record for most Pork Roll sandwiches eaten in 10 minutes with a whopping 61 pork roll sandwiches, that record was set in 2019.

We encourage you to come out to this year's River Fest as it will be a jam packed day of family fun capped off with a possible new champion or broken world record. If you think you have what it takes, you can enter in to try and compete in the event on July 20th at noon as Major League Eating's official registration opens then.
