Bonus chapter A Court of Silver Flames

Okay first off I am raging and not in a good way. Throughout this series Azriel has been like my favorite bat boy….but this chapter changed things. To start off before this chapter I did kinda ship Elaine and Azriel but I also thought it wouldn’t happen because the 3 brothers and 3 sisters were way too predictable. Now in the beginning of this chapter I was oh okay maybe Sarah J Maas is going to go with it anyway and then Rysand interrupted. SO many of the booktock girlies turned on him. I think that he did nothing wrong. When Azriel said “ "The Cauldron chose three sisters. Tell me how it's possible that my two brothers are with two of those sisters, yet the third was given to another." I was like ????? And when Rysand responded Rhys's face drained of color. "You believe you deserve to be her mate?" Azriel scowled. "I think Lucien will never be good enough for her, and she has no interest in him, anyway."

I really don’t think it was Rysand not thinking that Az wasn’t worthy of her he was just shocked that Azriel thought he was. If you look at the two now stable relationships we can see that the boys think that their mates are perfect and that they aren’t worthy of them, and they thank the Cauldron everyday for putting them together. The girl obviously has the same feeling towards the men. I think this is why Rysand was so shocked. He knew that it would risk so much for Azriel and Elaine to be together and if this was the mentality that Azriel had then they clearly weren’t meant to be. Okay now back to Azriel the audacity that he had to re gift the neckless he originally got for Eliane to Gwyneth pissed me the hell off. Like Azriel is an amazing spy so he is extremely good at picking up on people's feelings so he had to have some inkling that Gwyneth liked him and the fact that he just did that is such a jackass move. Like Gwyneth only got one other gift that year from Nestia so you know that she was probably very touched by Azriels gift. Now I also want to preface that I am not a hard core Lucian and Elaine shipper either. I really likedLucian in the first book but honestly I haven’t liked his personality that much since he found out that he is Elaine’s mate. That being said I think if he got his own book I could easily be won back over, because I know he has some serious back story. I honestly think that when Azriel get’s his own book it is going to be very angsty. I am happy we got this chapter but it really changed my opinion of Azriel.
