Just finished watching becoming jane; it was a poignant tale of incomplete love. The thought of countless loves that never reached their happy endings fills me with sadness, reminding me of a time when I too was in love (lol). The ending scene was truly beautiful as they gazed at each other with their fading smiles.

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.

“It was November--the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.”
― Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery
