Sunshine and success at Salperton
There was a lot of activity at Salperton Park this weekend, and our Mitavite Partner Riders did really well. Between them they had 16 rides with several excellent results.
Lucinda had a really busy day with six rides. Smoke on the Water was second in the Novice, adding just 0.8 time penalties to a dressage score of 28. In the OI, Nysa de Petra was 10th in section D, and in section C (at the same level), The Navigator came home 2nd. In the AI, Mr Miller 2 was 9th and Flying Finish was 6th. A thoroughly worthwhile outing to Gloucestershire for Lucinda.
Jonelle riding Flintstar at Salperton
Jonelle Richards was at Salperton Park too. In the Novice she was 3rd on Faerie Diamimo, 6th on Aloha, and 8th on Diflorio. Her best result of the day was aboard Reminiscent, in the Intermediate, coming 2nd.
Mark Todd was there too and in the AI he scooped a 5th on Major Milestone, and in the same section came 2nd on NZB Campino, a very pleasing result.

Dunges Laurent Rose Excels in first ever Four Star!
Mitavite Partner Rider Clayton Fredericks and Dunges Laurent Rose achieved an excellent result at Luhmuhlen ****…they finished 5th. The duo had a clear in both the cross country and the show jumping, ending on a dressage score of 47.2. The conditions for the cross country were made atrocious by heavy rain. Only 28 competitors went through to show jumping out of 43 starters. In the show jumping there were only five clear rounds. This on its own is a huge achievement…what makes it even more impressive is that this was Dunges Laurent Rose’s first ever four star!
Lucinda was at West Wilts mid week with Smoke on the Water and came 1st in the H section of the Novice. She had a dressage score of just 23, and added just a handful of cross country time penalties.
Tim Prices four star campaigner Vortex is back
Tim Price, also at West Wilts and entered five horse, his best result was on Wesko. They came in third in section H of the Novice. This event also saw the welcome return of Tim's four star campaigner Vortex. Ed jr as he is called at home never looked like he had left notching up an easy 24 dressage followed by a double clear around both XC and SJing. Needless to say Vortex was competing in the novice class HC. Watch this blog for an interview with Tim after completing his XC on Vortex.
Jonelle Richards had an outing to Longleat International and came in 4th in the Novice with Look Now in the Giraffe Novice section…and, if you’re asking why the section was called Giraffe rather than G, did you know it’s actually held at Longleat House which shares its location with a safari park!

Wesko continues his winning ways...
Our Mitavite Partner Riders have been continuing amazing form over the past couple of weeks...
Tim was recently at Ascott Under Wychwood, taking two of the less experienced horses to a BE100. Bango won his class, and Southpaw came sixth! We were particularly excited about this as Southpaw hasn't been the easiest horse to ride (we also watch him closely as he part owned be MD Cam), so, it's great to see that Tim's hard work and dedication are producing great results.
Still talking about Tim, we was also at Brand Hall last weekend, with his top placing coming from Wesko, who won the 1*! Wesko is shaping up to be a hard horse to beat, in his 8 runs to date he has never finished out of the top three, impressive.
Wesko's a real head turner
Mark's been to Little Downham and put in some great performances on NZB Cascade who was seventh in the Intermediate, Leonidas II who was fourth in the Intermediate, and NZB Land Vision who was also fourth, but this time in the OI.
Team Fredericks were at Berkshire College of Agriculture. Clayton's top placing went to MacArthur III who came second in the BE100, and Lucinda's top placing went to Smoke on the Water 2 who came fifth in the Novice.

Stunning Saumur!
Mitavite Partner Rider Clayton won the CCI*** at Saumur with Bendigo- what an awesome result!
Bendigo’s owners flew in from Hong Kong to see their horse compete, and had the honour of sharing the podium with Clayton, to savour the victory. Bendigo led from the start with a 41.4 dressage, went clear cross country and managed to retain his premier position with clear round in the showjumping.
Also in the CCI*** were Jonelle Richards and Flintstar who finished 11th, and Jonelle’s other ride, The Deputy, who came in 17th. Tim Price and Sporting Hero took 24th. Tim and Jonelle barely touch down in England before heading to Ireland with a team to compete at Tattersalls International this weekend.
The CCI*** wasn’t the only competition to be held in Saumur, there was a CIC** too with MPR Mark Todd finishing second with NZB Campino. This follows on from the duo’s third at Aston-Le-Walls where just two time penalties where added to their dressage score. Mark was also 34th at Saumur on Hezabrook.
We wish all our riders good luck for this weekend and let's hope this amazing run of success continues..

MPR's in Flying Form
Another week has flow by and with some big events this weekend, here’s an update from our Mitavite Partner Riders…
Last weekend Hambleden was the place to be, and Tim took 12th place with Luther II in the BE100. Jonelle’s top placing came from Look Now in the I where the duo came 17th, and Lucinda came 10th in the OI with Mr Miller 2, and she won the N on Pigrela Des Cabanes.
This weekend is going to be a big one for our riders as there’s so much on! Tim has nine, yes, nine rides planned at Aston Le Walls, ranging from BE100 with Watervalley Lockey Guy and Southpaw, though to Intermediate rides Wembley III, Ringwood Sky Boy and Boy. Jonelle has five rides from Novice to Intermediate and Mark has five rides from BE100 to Open Intermediate. We think the award for ‘most places at similar times’ has to go to Team Fredericks. Clayton’s at Aston on yesterday and today with five horses from Novice to Open Intermediate, and Chatsworth for the CIC3* with Dunges Laurent Rose over the weekend. Lucinda has Smoke On The Water 2 at Aston Le Walls, and then Pipe Band and The Navigator at Chatsworth in the CIC3*
For all you showjumping fans, we’re pleased to report that our Mitavite Partner Riders Michael, John and Robert Whitaker are also doing well.
In the Grand Prix in Maubeuge, France on 2nd May, John was second riding Casino.
Robert was part of the FEI Nations Cup team in Belgium where the team came seventh. In addition, Robert and Watch Me IV won the Prijs Mac van Turnhout and, with Catwalk IV, he came 3rd in the Prijs Euphony.
In Hagen, the Whitakers excelled again. As we head towards another weekend packed with competitions, here’s how our Mitavite Partner Riders have been getting on…
Firstly, we’d like to congratulate Clayton and Be My Guest. The duo finished fifth in Kentucky, which is a really superb achievement.
Back at home, Lucinda was in fine form at Withington. She came 3rd in the ON with Smoke On The Water 2, and 1st in the ON with Mr Miller 2.
Also at Withington was Jonelle. She had three rides in the OI. Reminiscent finished 14th on 47.9, Flintstar was 10th on 41.9, and The Deputy finished 2ndon a score of 32.8…that was just .1 behind the winner!
Tim was also busy and, if you’ve not already watched his awesome Ballindenisk round on Sporting Hero, have a look above. Over in Ireland, Tim rode Sporting Hero in the CIC*** and finished 16th; and Ringwood Sky Boy also finished 16th, but he was in the CIC**.

Mark Todd and NZB Land Vision win Badminton!
We are delighted to report that Mitavite Partner Rider Mark Todd and NZB Land Vision have won the 2011 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials!
Mark was fourth after the dressage with a very impressive score of 36.8. The leader was Ruth Edge who scored 33.3, followed by Piggy French on 36, and Laura Collett on 36.5.
In the cross country phase Ruth Edge retired Two Thyme cross country, and Piggy clocked up 9.2 time penalties. Laura added 8.8 penalties to Rayef’s score, and Mark added 6.8 putting him into the lead, ahead of Marina Kohncke and Calma Schelly.
Entering the show jumping phase there was all to play for, with just a few points between the top few positions. So, when NZB Land Vision entered the arena, our hearts were in our mouths and we felt like we jumped every fence with Mark, although with Mark’s vast experience…he probably didn’t need our help!
When he passed through the flags with all the poles in place we were delighted, elated, and all of the above! We are so pleased for Mark, Charlie his head groom (who was seen with NZB Land Vision after he left the arena), the team at Headley Stud, and well, everyone involved with Mark Todd Eventing.
We are so proud to work with Mark and his team, and think it’s great that he is now back at the very top of his game like he never left.
Meanwhile Lucinda Fredericks jumped clear across country and had only the one rail in the showjumping to finish an awesome 16th on Prada. A brilliant effort well done Lucinda.
MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS FROM MITAVITE!!!

The last stretch to Badminton..
As we round the final corner to Badminton, we'll admit that we can't wait to see how Mitavite Partner Riders Mark Todd and Lucinda Fredericks get on...we're keeping everything crossed for super rounds and high placings...make sure you keep an eye out for them on the course.
However, Badminton isn't here yet, and our riders were busy at Burnham Market this weekend. Top placings came from Mark who was riding NZB Cascade and Leonidas II. Cascade came 4th in his class, and Leonidas II 3rd in his, both at Novice level.
Jonelle and The Deputy came 6th in the *** at Burnham Market, and Lucinda tackled the Advanced and came 10th with Flying Finish, and 14th with Pipe Band.

Team Fredericks on top!
Husband and wife team Lucinda and Clayton Fredericks are having a great 2011 season to date, and with Badminton and Kentucky fast approaching, we’re keeping everything crossed that their great form continues.
Lucinda has just returned from Compeigne where she and The Navigator took 6th place in what was a really strong field of competitors. Clayton didn’t journey across the Channel, but won the AI at South of England with Bendigo, and came 3rd with Dunges Laurent Rose, a horse that’s on the Badminton wait list.
“Lucinda’s getting ready to take Prada to Badminton, and I’m taking Be My Guest II to Kentucky,” says Clayton. “Be My Guest II was due to compete at Badminton but I also entered her for Kentucky to have the choice should the funding become available as it’s expensive to take horses to Kentucky. That said, it’s a great opportunity for us andfor our saddlery, which is proving really popular over in the USA.
“Things are currently a bit of a logistical nightmare with horses and people going to various different competitions- but we’re hoping everyone does really well at their various events.”
Prada finished the 2010 season with 9th place at Blenheim and has two runs this year pre Badminton.
Be My Guest II finished last season with a 3rd at Burghley and has had four runs this year including at 5th place at Fontainebleau.
Team Fredericks are Mitavite Partner Riders with their whole team being fed on a combination Mitavite’s Rice Based feeds and performance supplements.

NZB Grass Valley likely to head to Kentucky
Mitavite Partner Rider Mark Todd is planning to take WEG ride NZB Grass Valley to The Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event rather than Major Milestone, the horse who was scheduled to run there.
The planned change has come in light of Major Milestone’s Belton run, and NZB Grass Valley’s solid performance at WEG in Kentucky last year.
“It is a late decision, I do feel both horses could do well there” said Mark “I just need to put myself and the horses in the best possible position to perform. NZB Grass Valley has proven he can travel that distance and then compete well”.
Mark’s plan is to run both Major Milestone and NZB Land Vision at this year’s Badminton, and then fly over to Kentucky where NZB Grass Valley will be waiting.
April is looks to be a very busy month for Mark, he’s currently at Compiegne in France with NZB Regent Lad and NZB Campino. He is then due back to compete at Burnham Market before lining up at Badminton and Kentucky.
